Check cashing systems and methods

A system for facilitating a check-cashing transaction in accordance with the present invention comprises a check-cashing apparatus and a host system in communication with the check-cashing apparatus. The check-cashing apparatus has input devices for receiving check data and identification data from a user. The host system includes one or more processors configured to receive check data, identification data, check image and membership data input by the user at the check-cashing apparatus. The host system can authenticate the identification data by applying a validation algorithm to the identification data or by cross-referencing the data against one or more databases containing validated identification data. If the check cashing apparatus includes a device for capturing biometric information, the identification data can also be authenticated by comparing the biometric information captured at the time of the transaction with stored biometric information relating to the user. The host system can authenticate the check data by: converting one or more of the data fields of the check image into a format capable of being processed. The converted data is then compared to the check data input by the user. The host system can calculate a score for each data field based on a probability that the converted data from the check image matches the check data input by the user. The processor determines automatically whether to approve the check by applying a risk assessment guidelines.

Down filling machine

The invention discloses a down filling machine, which comprises a down storage box, weighing cabinets, down filling pipes and a programmable controller, wherein the down storage box is provided with at least two weighing cabinets; at least two weighing boxes are arranged in each weighing cabinet; the total number of the weighing boxes is equal to the total number of down outlets of the down storage box; each weighing cabinet is provided with at least one down filling pipe; the total number of the weighing boxes in each weighing cabinet is dual, and the number of the down filling pipes is a half of the total number of the weighing boxes. According to the down filling machine, the close full-automatic down filling can be carried out, the labor intensity is reduced, the production efficiency is improved, and the production cost is decreased. The down filling machine has the advantages of reasonable design, simple structure, low cost and good practicability. The down storage box of the down filling machine has stable down output, so that the down filling consistence and the down filling precision are ensured; a weighing process of the weighing boxes is independent, precise and effective; the down filling pipes cannot fill the down to airtight cutting pieces; working conditions of the multiple weighing boxes are alternatively changed and one down filling pipe is used for outputting, so that the down filling efficiency is further improved.

Method and apparatus for objective assessment of in-ear device acoustical performance

A method and apparatus for objectively assessing acoustical performance of an in-ear device having a passageway extending there through use a dual microphone probe that removably engages the passageway. The acoustical performance of the in-ear device is performed with the in-ear device inserted into the ear canal of the user and a reference sound source. A clip holding the probe in an acoustic near field of the sound source permits real time calibration thereof. The method and apparatus allow on-site and in-situ measurement of a predicted personal attenuation rating of the device, a subject-fit re-insertion test, an acoustic seal test, a rating test, a stability and reliability test, as well as a protection test of the device with an assessment of a filtered predicted exposure level at the ear for a specific noise exposure level. The apparatus may be simply housed along with the sound source for in-field evaluation tests.
