633 results about "Fluoroelastomer" patented technology

A fluoroelastomer is a fluorocarbon-based synthetic rubber. Fluroelastomers generally have wide chemical resistance.

Perfluoroelastomers having a low glass transition temperature and method of making them

A method of making a curable fluoroelastomer is disclosed. The method comprises the steps ofpreemulsifying at least one perfluorovinylether in water, andcopolymerizing the preemulsified perfluorovinylether with a gaseous fluorinated monomer in the presence of a cure site monomer. The method provides a fluoroelastomer having a glass transition temperature of less than -10° C. Also disclosed is a fluoroelastomer that consists essentially of a perfluorovinylether of formula (I) as defined below, a cure site component, perfluoromethylvinylether, and tetrafluoroethylene and / or chlorotrifluoroethylene.

Hazardous-Environmental Diving Systems

A system designed to increase diver safety in high-risk environments containing one or more hazardous materials. The system comprises one or more retrofittable kits enabling the upgrading of contaminate-vulnerable materials of an existing dive helmet to provide full environment isolation for the diver. The system preferably utilizes fluoroelastomeric replacement materials and components to convert an open circuit dive system to a closed circuit dive system. Methods of system development are also disclosed.

Seal comprising elastomeric composition with nanoparticles

Seals and sealing members are formed from a composition generally comprising a first elastomeric material and a second elastomeric material, wherein the second elastomeric material comprises a dispersion of nanosized particles disposed within a polymer matrix of the second elastomeric material. Preferred first and second elastomeric materials are fluoroelastomers, and preferred nanosized particles are fluoropolymers. The nanosized particles are sized less than about 100 nm. The composition comprises about 0.2 to 65 percent by weight of first elastomeric material, about 20 to 95 percent by weight of second elastomeric material, and about 10 to 90 percent by weight particles based on the total weight of the particles and the second elastomeric material. The composition can be used to form annular O-ring seals placed within rotary cone bits used for drilling subterranean formations, and can be used to form a selected portion of the seal or the entire seal.

Fluoroelastomer composition

A fluoroelastomer composition contains a peroxide-curable solid fluoroelastomer and a peroxide curative agent combined therewith, and, a bisphenol-curable liquid fluoroelastomer and a bisphenol curative agent combined therewith. The solid fluoroelastomer / peroxide curative when combined with the liquid fluoroelastomer / bisphenol curative results in a composition exhibiting improved polymeric properties including improved flowability at room temperature and improved fluid resistance and sealability at a wide range of temperatures.
