High frequency thermal ablation of cancerous tumors and functional targets with image data assistance

This invention relates to the destruction of pathological volumes or target structures such as cancerous tumors or aberrant functional target tissue volumes by direct thermal destruction. In the case of a tumor, the destruction is implemented in one embodiment of the invention by percutaneous insertion of one or more radiofrequency probes into the tumor and raising the temperature of the tumor volume by connection of these probes to a radiofrequency generator outside of the body so that the isotherm of tissue destruction enshrouds the tumor. The ablation isotherm may be predetermined and graded by proper choice of electrode geometry and radiofrequency (rf) power applied to the electrode with or without temperature monitoring of the ablation process. Preplanning of the rf electrode insertion can be done by imaging of the tumor by various imaging modalities and selecting the appropriate electrode tip size and temperature to satisfactorily destroy the tumor volume. Computation of the correct three-dimensional position of the electrode may be done as part of the method, and the planning and control of the process may be done using graphic displays of the imaging data and the rf ablation parameters. Specific electrode geometries with adjustable tip lengths are included in the invention to optimize the electrodes to the predetermined image tumor size.

The flexible LED lamp strip comprises a flexible lamp strip body, an end cover assembly and a conductive connector.A flexible lamp plate and two embedded main wires are arranged in the flexible lamp strip body. The end cover assembly comprises an end cover PCB, an electrode pin, an electrode insertion piece and anend cover shell wrapping the outer side of the end cover PCB through injection molding. The electrode insertion piece and the electrode pin are communicated through a circuit on the end cover PCB. When the end cover assembly is inserted in the flexible lamp belt body, the electrode insertion piece and an electrode contact of the flexible lamp plate are electrically connected, the electrode pin and the main wires are electrically connected, and a parallel circuit is formed in the flexible lamp strip body. Two conductive screws are arranged on the conductive connector. The conductive connectoris installed at any position of the outer side of the flexible lamp strip body through the two conductive screws. The tip parts of the two conductive screws are in contact conduction with the main wires. The wired powering of any place of the flexible LED lamp strip is realized, installation and use are convenient, and the flexible LED lamp strip has the advantages of being rapid in connection andsafe and reliable in electrical connection.

Cochlear Implant Electrode Insertion Bridge

An electrode guide bridge is used for inserting a cochlear implant electrode into a cochlea scala of a patient cochlea. An electrode holder encloses at least a portion of a cochlear implant electrode while allowing the electrode to slide freely without friction. A pointed distal tip of the electrode holder is sized to fit within a posterior tympanotomy during electrode insertion surgery and into an electrode opening in an outer surface of the patient cochlea without entering the cochlea scala to prevent an apical tip of the enclosed electrode from contacting tissues around the electrode opening during the insertion surgery.

Electrokinetic micro power cell using pile-up disk type microfluidic-chip with multi-channel

Disclosed is a micro power cell capable of being applied as an energy source and utilizing a streaming potential phenomenon occurring in accordance with an electrokinetic principle when an electrolyte aqueous solution flows in the microchannels piled up in several layers. The streaming potential cell consists of a PDMS microfluidic-chip fabricated by MEMS process as well as micromachining technology. The microfluidic-chip is formed with multi microchannels radially arranged in parallel with each other around a center of a disk at a regular interval. The disk type multi microchannel can achieve uniform inflow and outflow effects. According to the invention, there is provided a cell device comprising a pile-up chip having a number of disk type microfluidic-chips with the optimal structure of flow-in and flow-out of a fluid, a distributor, a collector, an electrode insertion part, etc.
