Two different control strategies are employed for a grid side converter according to amplitude change of power grid voltage: when the power grid voltage is in a normal state, the grid side converter is in an active-priority maximum power tracing control mode so that the wind turbines capture wind energy to the maximum extent; when the power grid voltage is beyond the normal range, the grid side converter is in an active priority control mode so that the dynamic reactive current which is injected into an electricity system meets the requirements of grid combining. An engine side converter is in a direct-current voltage control mode based on rotor energy storage, power unbalance of the direct-current side of the engine side converter is relieved and the direct-current voltage is stabilized by utilizing the self rotating speed of the permanent-magnet direct-driven wind turbines and the change of the kinetic energy. The active and reactive coordination control for the wind turbines before or after the sudden change of the power grid voltage is realized according to the amplitude change of the power grid voltage, the fluctuation of the direct-current bus voltage is restrained by releasing or storing the rotor kinetic energy, so that the low-voltage ride-through capability of the permanent-magnet direct-driven wind turbines is improved, reactive power support is rapidly and accurately provided for the power grid, and certain support is given to restoration of the power grid voltage.

A system for supplying electrical power for use when the vehicle engine is shut down and configurations of long-haul trucks employing the system are disclosed. The power system is a battery bank contained within an insulated enclosure. The batteries are heated when the truck is in operation with the insulated enclosure maintaining battery temperature sufficient to provide high battery power capacity for an extended period after the vehicle is shut down. A large capacitor, rather than the batteries, provides current for starting the vehicle engine. A dc-to-dc converter controls the fully charged capacitor voltage and provides capacitor charging current even when the batteries have been discharged to a low-voltage condition. The disclosed long-haul truck configurations include a storage cooler that employs a phase-change medium that is thermally charged to a low temperature while the truck is in operation and is used to provide sleeper unit cooling air. Additional provision is made for heating the sleeper unit and for powering a coolant heater that can warm the truck engine block and truck fuel when the engine is shut down during cold weather.

The short-term wind power prediction method provided by the invention effectively improves the short-term wind power prediction precision, and can effectively solve the wind power prediction problem of the electric power system, so as to provide more reliable guarantee for large-scale wind power integration.

Inductively coupled plasma/partial oxidation reformation of carbonaceous compounds to produce fuel for energy production

Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) reforming converts carbonaceous compounds into a fuel for use in generating electrical power. Energy rich hydrocarbon fuels, such as coal, marine diesel, oils, and hydrocarbon wastes are employed as a feedstock for the ICP, which transforms the feedstock into a fuel that can be used by fuel cells and gas turbines for the production of electricity. The overall efficiency of an ICP-based electrical power system can be increased by providing partial oxidation within the reaction vessel. The partial oxidation conditions consume a small amount of the reformed fuel gas, thereby liberating sufficient thermal energy to reduce the electrical power requirements of the ICP to maintain desired reactor temperatures, and providing an increase in the overall net electrical power production. The integrated power production system can also adjust to meet an increased requirement for process heat and steam by balancing the effect of partial oxidation.
