Method and apparatus for providing virtual touch interaction in the drive-thru

The present invention is a method and apparatus for providing an enhanced automatic drive-thru experience to the customers in a vehicle by allowing use of natural hand gestures to interact with digital content. The invention is named Virtual Touch Ordering System (VTOS). In the VTOS, the virtual touch interaction is defined to be a contact free interaction, in which a user is able to select graphical objects within the digital contents on a display system and is able to control the processes connected to the graphical objects, by natural hand gestures without touching any physical devices, such as a keyboard or a touch screen. Using the virtual touch interaction of the VTOS, the user is able to complete transactions or ordering, without leaving the car and without any physical contact with the display. A plurality of Computer Vision algorithms in the VTOS processes a plurality of input image sequences from the image-capturing system that is pointed at the customers in a vehicle and performs the virtual touch interaction by natural hand gestures. The invention can increase the throughput of drive-thru interaction and reduce the delay in wait time, labor cost, and maintenance cost.

Mobile-terminal-oriental transmission method and apparatus

Time slice transmission methods transmit data in bursts, thus creating a delay until playback of a service can begin when changing the service and therefore preventing smooth zapping. To solve this problem, a first stream used for burst transmission of packet sets and a second stream for continuously transmitting packets at a speed determined according to the transmission rate required for a particular service are multiplexed and transmitted. The content is reproduced using the continuously transmitted second stream during zapping, and the first stream transmitted in bursts is reproduced after zapping ends.

Automated system and method for processing prescriptions

InactiveUS20060149587A1Previous techniques for filling prescriptions are substantially reduced or eliminatedEasy to handleDrug and medicationsDiagnostic recording/measuringQuality assurancePhysician roles
An automated system and method for processing prescription requests is disclosed, whereby a patient or physician enters a prescription request to an automated pharmacy prescription processing system. For example, a request for a new or refill prescription can be transmitted from a physician's office to the prescription processing system as a digital file or facsimile message, or using keypad or voice commands in an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system running in the prescription processing system. A request for a prescription refill can also be entered by a patient using an IVR system, or the patient can physically carry the refill prescription request to a pharmacy for entry to the prescription processing system by a technician. The automated pharmacy system determines whether the new or refill prescription request can be filled by a central fill inventory. The automated pharmacy prescription processing system sends eligible, pending prescription requests to an automated central fill prescription request processing system. The automated central fill processing system processes and fills each valid prescription request from a central fill inventory, initiates a quality assurance procedure to double-check each prescription to be filled, labels the double-checked, approved prescriptions, and routes them to a staging area for shipment to the appropriate pharmacy stores.

System and method for stateful web-based computing

A method for providing “guaranteed message delivery” for network based communications between a client machine and a server. The client machine includes a Client Runtime Environment (CRE) and the server includes a Server Runtime Environment (SRE). The method includes the following steps. A first message queue is maintained in the CRE. A first unique identification is attached to the first message from the first message queue and the first message is sent from the CRE to the SRE via a network communication. The SRE receives the first message and sends an acknowledgement of the receipt of the first message to the CRE. Upon receiving of the acknowledgement within a certain time threshold, the CRE removes the first message from the first message queue in the CRE. A method of providing “server-push” of messages from the server to the client machine utilizing a push Servlet and a push API.

Intra-cell device to device direct communication method based on user device relay

The invention discloses an intra-cell device to device direct communication method based on user device relay. According to the method, when a first device and a second device in the same cell need to be communicated with each other, if a ProSe server finds the distance between the two devices is too far to meet the distance requirement of device to device communication, the ProSe sends a request message for searching for an available relay device to an eNB (evolved node base) ; after receiving the request message, the eNB searches and feeds a result back to the ProSe server; the ProSe server selects a proper relay device by using the feedback result, and sends a beacon resource request to the eNB; the eNB respectively allocates beacon resources for the first device and the relay device as well as the second device and the relay device, and the relay device and the second device notify the eNB of a communication quality detection result; device to device communication scheduling is performed; after finishing service transmission, the communication devices release the device to device resources. According to the method, the communication is performed in a device to device relay mode, sending power is reduced, user device energy is saved, and the system performance is improved.
