Method for modular design of a computer system-on-a-chip

In a computer system having a device and a communications link for communicating with the device. A method for dynamically managing power consumption by the computer system comprises associating a particular device identifier with the device. Communications are monitored over the communications link to determine whether the communications include the particular device identifier. A clock input is withheld from the device when the communications do not include the particular device identifier. Clock input is provided to the device only when the communications include the particular device identifier. The clock input causes the device to transition from a non-operational power conservative state to an operational state wherein the device consumes more power than in the non-operational state. A performance requirement is established for a task to be executed. Clock frequency is dynamically controlled according to the performance requirement established for the task being executed.

Dual loop automatic gain control

An AGC circuit includes both wide-band and narrow-band VGAs. Two power monitors monitor the power level of the two VGAs. Based upon the signals provided by the power monitors, the AGC circuit derives two error terms. The AGC circuit filters and combines the error terms to determine a desired adjustment to the total gain and a desired adjustment to the distribution of the gain between the wide-band VGA and the narrow-band VGA. The AGC circuit also minimizes the noise figure of the narrow-band VGA subject to linearity constraints.

The stimulator has an antenna that allows it to be powered solely by far-field or approximately plane wave electromagnetic radiation, having frequencies in the range of 0.3 to 10 GHz. Electrical impulses are applied through the stimulator to a vagus nerve to stimulate, block or otherwise modulate activity of the nerve and treat the patient's condition. The stimulator uses an adjustable number of fixed voltage (or fixed current) pulses with fixed duration to elicit desired changes in nerve response, the timing of which are controlled by an external power transmitter and controller.

Graphic-arts laser imaging with reduced-length laser cavities and improved performance

Cavity lasers exhibit a relatively high beam quality (e.g., M2<1.25) despite a relatively small cavity length (e.g., 50-53 mm) for a high (e.g., ≧10 watt) output power device. This enables the construction of physically smaller laser and optical assemblies without sacrificing performance. Reduction of optical photonic interference, which can impair imaging performance, is also facilitated. Laser and optical assemblies may utilize an aperture defined within an optical barrier element to reduce the divergence of the light beam emanating from a diode-pumping laser.

Temperature control method and device of radio frequency module and computer readable storage medium

The embodiment of the invention provides a temperature control method and device of a radio frequency module and a computer storage medium. The temperature control method comprises the steps that temperature of the radio frequency module is periodically detected; when the temperature of the radio frequency module in a current period is greater than a preset first temperature threshold value, the duty ratio of the radio frequency module is reduced; when the temperature of the radio frequency module in the current period is smaller than a preset second temperature threshold value, the duty ratioof the radio frequency module is improved. By adopting the method, the target temperature is controlled between the first temperature threshold value and the second temperature threshold value. Compared with the prior art, temperature and handling capacity control is more stable by adopting the method. In addition, due to the fact that the temperature between the first temperature threshold valueand the second temperature threshold value meets the relation T2 = T1-D1-D2, excessive temperature allowance does not need to be set without sacrifice of part of properties of the device.
