The invention discloses a high-yield cultivation method for yam. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) digging pits, i.e., ridging in a planting field with a depth of 20-40 cm 15-30 days before planting in winter,
drying the soil for 5-10 days, and burying directional galleries, enabling yams to grow in a specific direction in
ridge bottoms; (2) backfilling the pits, i.e., backfilling and applying basal
fertilizer after the directional galleries are buried, backfilling soil of 5-10cm on a first layer, applying
green manure of 5-10 cm on a second layer, backfilling soil of 2-5 cm on a third layer, applying compound
fertilizer on a fourth layer for 0.5-1 kg every pit, applying
farmyard manure of 10-15 cm on a fifth layer, and backfilling soil of 10-20 cm on a sixth layer; (3) planting, i.e.,
sowing yam seeds at places which are 4-8 cm away from the
ridge surfaces in the planting period; and (4) performing field management after planting. The basal
fertilizer is applied into the pits in advance, and the basal fertilizer on each layer infiltrates mutually to further
compost, so that the growth soil of the yams is loose, the
fertility is sufficient, the growth and the tuberization of the yam are facilitated, and a foundation is laid for high yield cultivation of the yams.
