Docking collar for a faucet having a pullout spray head

InactiveUS6877172B2Reduces effort and forceImprove retentionDomestic plumbingLiquid spraying apparatusShaft collarSnap finger
A faucet has a spout and a pullout spray head connected to a flexible water supply tube and releasably connectable to the spout. The spout has a docking collar mounted thereon for receiving a connecting shaft of the spray head. The docking collar has an annular wall with a plurality of U-shaped slots which define a plurality of cantilevered snap fingers. Each snap finger includes a projection that fits into a groove in the connecting shaft when the spray head is docked. An elastomeric O-ring surrounds the annular wall at a point where the O-ring engages the snap fingers to bias them toward the groove. Ridges on the exterior surface of the wall retain the O-ring in place. The spout and docked spray head have parallel shoulders that define a mating plane. The projections and groove define a retaining plane. The mating plane is not parallel to the retaining plane such that rotation of the spray head about an axis normal to the mating plane will cause the projections to release from the groove.

Power architecture and braking circuits for DC motor-propelled vehicle

A dynamic braking circuit that can be operated with stability over both high and low speed regimes. This circuit has the advantage of using fewer components than previous circuits. In addition, when in braking mode, the armature and field currents tend to oppose each other across the main braking switch hence reducing electromechanical stresses when in high current regime. According to a second embodiment, a dynamic braking circuit implements a “soft” extended braking function with the capability of providing a smoother braking action at high braking effort at little extra cost resulting from the replacement of a contactor by a reverser. The main advantages of this preferred embodiment are that the current generated by the armatures during braking can be controlled independently from the excitation of the field windings at low speeds and that it enables simultaneous self supply, regeneration and dynamic braking.

Processing of time-of-flight signals

Described herein is a method and sensor of processing time-of-flight (TOF) signals in a TOF camera system including an illumination unit and an imaging sensor. The method comprises illuminating the scene with light at a first frequency, detecting reflected light from at least one object in the scene at the first frequency, and determining a phase measurement using I and Q values. In addition, the scene is illuminated with light at a second frequency, the second frequency being 2−n of the first frequency where n=1, 2, . . . , etc., and the signs of I and Q values for both the first and second frequencies is used to determine the presence of aliasing in the phase measurement so that it can be corrected. The phase measurement is then corrected for aliasing and the effective range of the TOF camera system is extended by multiples of 2n. In addition, relative signal strength needs to be considered in accordance with the reflectivity of objects within the scene. For a reflectivity of 4% and no aliasing, the ability to detect an object decreases with distance (30). For an aliased phase measurement for an object with a reflectivity of 100%, the ability to detect the object is substantially constant (35).
