A system and method of controlling quadrotor air vehicles (QRAV) that may include an additional two degrees of freedom for each of the four propellers of the QRAV. Each of the four rotors may be allowed to rotate (tilt) around two local axes selected from the x-axis (roll), y-axis (pitch), and z-axis (yaw). Control of the quadrotor including the additional two degrees of freedom allows thrust of each rotor to be direct in any direction of a semi-sphere. As a result, total control inputs of the QRAV may be increased to twelve, enabling smooth control to achieve superior and precise maneuverability. Additionally, the system and method is fault tolerant and capable of handling failures of any of the rotors. Commands to the propellers may be fully decoupled and achieved independently thereby giving pilots better control to execute difficult maneuvers.

A method for efficient and fast implementation of context-based adaptive binary arithmetic encoding in H.264 / AVC video encoders is disclosed. The H.264 / AVC video standard supports two entropy coding mechanisms. These include Context Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC) and Context Adaptive Variable Length Coding (CAVLC). The entropy coding efficiency of CABAC exceeds that of CAVLC by a clear margin. The method further provides techniques that make the implementation of CABAC on digital signal processors (DSPs) and other processing devices significantly faster. In one aspect, the method increases decoupling between the binarization process and the arithmetic encoding process from bit level to single or multiple syntax element(s) level. The binarized data is provided to the arithmetic encoding engine in bulk, thereby significantly reducing the overhead due to procedure calls. In another aspect, a CABAC arithmetic encoding engine format is provided which decreases data writing overhead and better exploits parallelism in the encoding process. This aspect is particularly advantageous to, for example, very long instruction word (VLIW) DSPs and media processors. In yet another aspect, the method discloses efficient CABAC binarization schemes for syntax elements.

Re-normalization of CABAC encoding is performed by restructuring the re-normalization into two processing units including an arithmetic encoding unit and a bit writing unit. The bit writing unit is configured to format signal bits into a multiple-bit sequence, and write multiple bits simultaneously during an execution of a bit writing loop.

A headgear assembly is provided with an integrated music or other sound player supportable therein. The headgear assembly includes a headband or cap with pouches therein for various portions of the music player. In particular, a left speaker pouch is provided for a left speaker, a right speaker pouch is provided for a right speaker and a player pouch is provided for a sound player. A wire harness is also provided to preferably removably attach the speakers to the sound player. The headband or cap with the pouches therein holds the player and speakers directly adjacent a head of the user, and with the speakers directly over ears of the user. Controls on the player are accessed through a window in an outer panel of the headband or cap to allow user access. The player, wire harness and speakers are all substantially concealed within the headgear assembly.

The microstrip feed utilized in communicating signals with respect to the slots of the second signal feed is adapted to provide signals of substantially equal amplitude and 180° out of phase with respect to each other according to embodiments. The second signal feed configuration utilized according to embodiments provides partial coupling between the patch and the second signal feed.
