241 results about "Hill climbing" patented technology

In numerical analysis, hill climbing is a mathematical optimization technique which belongs to the family of local search. It is an iterative algorithm that starts with an arbitrary solution to a problem, then attempts to find a better solution by making an incremental change to the solution. If the change produces a better solution, another incremental change is made to the new solution, and so on until no further improvements can be found.

Method of controlling photovoltaic power generation system

A conventional hill climbing method is not capable of tracking a maximum power when a shadow covers a part of a solar cell panel and a plurality of maximal values is thereby developed. The invention provides a photovoltaic power generation system control method that controls a photovoltaic output setting value to be an appropriate value by following up a variation in the solar irradiation, including a genetic algorithm process of employing the photovoltaic output setting value as a gene and the output power as an evaluation value thereof; randomly extracting a plurality of genes and repeating storage, selection and crossover / mutation of the output powers which are the evaluation values of the genes, so as to converge a difference between a maximum and minimum values of the output voltages into a predetermined range; and a hill climbing process of setting the photovoltaic output setting value corresponding to the greatest value of the converged output voltages, and a greater and a lower value than the photovoltaic output setting value by a predetermined amount, so as to select the greatest output power among these values; and repeating such steps to track the maximum output power.

Locating regions in a target image using color matching, luminance pattern matching and hue plane pattern matching

A system and method for locating regions in a target image matching a template image with respect to color and pattern information. The template image is characterized with regard to pattern and color. A first-pass search is made using color information from the color characterization of the template image to find color match candidate locations preferably via a hill-climbing technique. For each color match candidate location, a luminance pattern matching search is performed, optionally using a hill-climbing technique, on a region proximal to the location, producing final match regions. For each final match region a hue plane pattern match score may be calculated using pixel samples from the interior of each pattern. A final color match score may be calculated for each final match region. A final score is calculated from luminance pattern match, color match, and possibly hue pattern match, scores, and the scores and sum output.

Signal timing optimization method based on variable guide lane

The invention discloses a signal timing optimization method based on a variable guide lane. After the functional attribute of the variable guide lane is changed, each veering traffic flow saturability is obtained by each veering traffic volume obtained by a detector, and different signal timing optimization schemes are determined according to the saturability. The method particularly comprises the steps that when the saturability is lower, smallest delay is taken as a control target, and a period and signal timing are determined by adopting a traditional Webster method; when the saturability is larger than 0.9, the intersection traffic capacity improvement and the delay reduction are taken as targets, and when some veer is over-saturated, the period and the green signal ratio are adjusted by a hill-climbing method; when each veer is saturated, a phase position is added on basis of common four phase positions, a phase position group is redistributed, a key phase position chain of each combined phase position group is found, and green signal lamp time is distributed according to an equisaturation principle; the aims of reducing total delay at an intersection and improving the traffic capacity are achieved.

Imaging device and autofocusing method

In an imaging device according to one aspect of the invention, an amplitude demand Ac is specified according to a wobbling amplitude Ai required for detection of a hill-climbing direction based on an F value and a wobbling amplitude Ag required for detection of the hill-climbing direction based on an AGC gain. An allowable amplitude Am set for preventing a potential image shake caused by a magnification change with a position shift of a compensator lens in wobbling is specified corresponding to a zoom position and an object distance. When Ac>Am, the control procedure restricts the wobbling amplitude to Am and increases a sampling number of AF evaluation values to be detected at respective positions in wobbling, in order to ensure the sufficient detection performance of the hill-climbing direction. When Ac□Am on the other hand, the control procedure sets Ac to the wobbling amplitude. This arrangement of the imaging device efficiently ensures the sufficient detection performance of the hill-climbing direction for autofocusing control, while effectively preventing deterioration of the quality of a captured image due to the magnification change in the wobbling motion.

Automatic focusing method and device for camera based on defocus estimation improved hill climbing method

The invention relates to the technical field of camera focusing, in particular to an automatic focusing method and device for a camera based on a defocus estimation improved hill climbing method. Thedefocus state of the camera can be regarded as a Gaussian blur state of an image. When the camera is in a quasi-focal state, the original image of a current frame image deviates greatly from a definition evaluation value of the Gaussian blurred image; when the camera is in the defocus state, the original image of the current frame image deviates little from the definition evaluation value of the Gaussian blurred image, and if the defocus depth is larger, the deviation of the definition evaluation value is smaller. Thus, the defocus depth of the current frame image can be expressed by calculating the deviation between the original image of the current frame image and the Gaussian blurred image of the current frame image, and the focusing step of the camera is adaptively adjusted according to the defocus depth, so that the quasi-focus position can be quickly arrived at on the premise that the focusing precision is ensured, and the problem that the speed and the precision of the camera are difficult to balance during focusing is solved.
