wireless sensor network, which comprises the following steps: M, the communications inside the cluster, the cluster members send the data to a cluster head; N, the communications between the clusters, namely the communications between the cluster heads; when two cluster heads are positioned at the same virtue cluster, the two cluster heads implement data interaction at the communications time of period between the clusters; when the two cluster heads are positioned at different virtue clusters, the two cluster heads implement data interaction at the self-
adaptive communications time of period between virtual clusters; a cluster head node at the common boundary of the two virtual clusters needs an self-
adaptive communications time of period between the virtues clusters in a
superframe cycle; depending on relevant starting and ending time of the communications time of period of the opposite clusters, the time of period of self-adaptive communications is set at a corresponding position in the
superframe cycle of the cluster head. The invention enables better support for the
data transmission in the network, and has good energy efficiency and the expansion of the network scale; and has poor requirement for the
clock synchronous requirement of node, thereby the invention is suitable for design in the MAC layer of the sensor network node with limited resource.
