The adhesive has the advantages of high bonding strength, high drying rate, environment friendliness and no toxicity, and is especially suitable for bonding soft PVC foamed materials.

The invention discloses a method for preparing a solid adhesive. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps: first, oxidizing a mixture of corn starch and waxy rice starch by sodium hypochlorite in an alkali condition to prepare oxidized starch; then, weighing 25-30 parts of oxidized starch, and adding 50-60 parts of water into the oxidized starch to prepare slurry; adding 5-8 parts of 25% sodium hydroxide solution into the slurry under constantly stirring, stirring for 2 minutes, and standing; finally, adding 4-6 parts of 10% boric acid solution after the slurry is completely gelatinized, adding proper water to dilute the slurry to a proper viscosity, uniformly stirring, and standing for 5-10 minutes to obtain the oily yellow translucent adhesive.
