System and Method for Secure Management of Mobile User Access to Enterprise Network Resources

A system and method are provided for managing mobile user access to enterprise network resources from a wireless mobile device, such as a smart phone or mobile computer, with improved security and access control. Access rules determining accessible resources and associated permitted operations are determined based on membership of an authenticated user to each of one or more groups, each group being associated with a set of permitted accessible resources and operations. For each user, based on membership of a group, or a Boolean evaluation of memberships of two or more groups, a list of accessible resources and permitted operations is generated, and the list is made available for subsequent processes, e.g. presentation to the user on an interface of the mobile device. Access rules may also be defined dependent on other information received from the system, or from the mobile device, such as time or location. Requests for an operation such as read access or write access to a network resource, such as a file, lists, shared calendars et al., may thus be readily controlled by an IT manager for multiple users of an enterprise network. Since the application resides in an application layer between the mobile device and existing security infrastructure, mobile access may be set without overriding internal access policies.

Gaming machine

In the slot machine 1, when the player touches the touch panel 5k corresponding to the periphery of the bet number display part 32, the numerical keypad image is displayed on the liquid crystal display panel 5d and input operation of the numerical value through the numerical keypad device 30 is activated. After the numerical value is input by the numerical keypad device 30, if the player operates the start lever 9 or the spin switch 13 or the MAX BET switch 17, the numerical keypad image disappears. Thereafter, the bet number is recognized by the main CPU 42. If the bet number is recognized by the main CPU 42, the sum calculated by multiplying the unit sum corresponding to one bet with the bet number is set as the betted money by the main CPU 42. And based on the operation of the start lever 9 or the spin switch 13 or the MAX BET switch 17 by the player, rotation of the reels 2 to 4 is conducted and the slot machine game is started.

Traffic surveillance method and system

The invention relates generally to a method and system for monitoring traffic events at a predetermined location, using a temporary video camera set up to record traffic movements through an intersection or other location along a road. The method preferably comprises taking a video recording of the location, and then sending the recording to a foreign country where the recording can be reviewed manually at a reduced cost. To facilitate an accurate and consistent review of the recording, the invention preferably uses “event lines” that can be superimposed on the video monitor, wherein the event lines help determine when a vehicle has passed through an intersection, i.e., when a recordable traffic event occurs. The system also preferably uses a computer-operated program adapted to assist the operator in reviewing, verifying and summarizing the recorded information, wherein a particular key or keys can be pressed depending on the type of event to be indicated. The system is also able to identify the exact frame number of a recordable event that corresponds to an exact moment in real time, i.e., when the event actually occurred. A tripod-like apparatus for temporarily setting up a video camera in locations where no existing pole or structure is available, as well as a tamper-proof housing in which the video recording device can be temporarily mounted, can also be provided.

Multiple-axis control system for an optical switch

A free space optical switch that uses both an open loop control mode and a closed loop control mode. The open loop control mode is used to transition to a state where at least some light is sensed at a destination port. A closed loop control mode is then used, whereby a series of controlled dither signals are adjusted for system dynamics. Modifying the dither signals in this matter allows moving actuators at a rate that is much closer to the natural frequency of the underlying system, and hence speeds up the system convergence process. Variable modulation amplitudes may be employed on the dither signals to maximize convergence speed. In particular, changes in the dither signal can be made in accordance with the change in amplitude as a function of a gradient along a parabola that models the optical system response. According to still further aspects, the dither signals may be compensated for a desired and selectable attenuation level of output optical power.

ActiveUS20070211724A1Reducing bandwidth fluctuationQuick SetupError preventionTransmission systemsComputer hardwareCross layer
A method and a communication station for determining a packet format of a data packet based on at least one compressed header information field. A header packet format of a data packet is determined based on the determined packet format of a partially or completely compressed header information part. The station may also determine a codec rate based on the result of a previously performed compression of at least one header information field. In one embodiment, internal cross-layer signaling from a header generator module to a payload generator module in the communication station is used for signaling information associated with determining the header packet format of the data packet. The method reduces bandwidth fluctuations associated with services such as text messaging audio, or audiovisual services; lowers the delay variations and the erasure rates for application media streams; and provides for faster set-up of sessions.
