Interference-based routing in a wireless mesh network

Route selection through a wireless mesh network between a source node and a destination node is based on minimizing generated interference in order to increase the capacity of the network. An interference energy associated with transmitting a packet over each hop in multiple routes from the source node to the destination node is determined. The interference energy for each hop is combined to generate a combined interference energy for each route. One of the routes is selected based on the combined interference energy determined for each route.

Multi-wavelength transmitter optical sub assembly with integrated multiplexer

InactiveUS7184621B1Cost effective and compact CWDM transceiversReduce lossCoupling light guidesFiberBeam splitter
A four-channel multi-wavelength transmitter optical sub assembly (TOSA) with an integrated multiplexer is described that includes four lasers, four collimating lenses, a multiplexer, an isolator, a focusing lens, and an optical fiber. The integrated multiplexer comprises three filters in two stages, with each filter combining a transmission and a reflection beam into one beam. Four collimated beams are combined into one beam and then focused onto the fiber by the focusing lens. The optical paths of all channels are short and possibly the same length. The invention allows using either transistor outline (TO) can packaged lasers or lasers in chip on submount. In some embodiments, four coupling lenses that focus the light onto fiber directly can be used instead of the collimating and focusing lenses, providing a more compact assembly. One or more filters can be beam-splitters to relax coating and assembling tolerances, thus reducing the cost.

Synthesis gas production method and reactor

InactiveUS20070292342A1Mitigate carbon formationReduce possible catalyst poisoningCombination devicesHydrogenChemistryPartial oxidation
A method of producing a synthesis gas from a hydrocarbon containing gaseous feed in which the hydrocarbon containing gaseous feed is reacted in an autothermal reactor having separated reaction stages in which partial oxidation and steam methane reforming reactions occur. Each of the reaction stages has alternating separation zones and catalytic reaction zones. Oxygen separated by oxygen ion transport in the separation zone supports the partial oxidation reactions occurring in the catalytic reaction zones. Reactants are separately metered to the reaction stages to control temperatures within the reaction stages so that use of expensive high temperature materials is confined to one or more final reaction stages. Reaction stages can incorporate perforated planar members with regions of oxygen ion transport membrane material in registry with such perforated regions form the separation zones and the catalytic reaction zones.

Method and Hardware for Enhanced Removal of Post Etch Polymer and Hardmask Removal

Methods for cleaning substrates are described including cleaning substrates having hardmask masks and polymer films, such part of semiconductor fabrication. Cleaning methods include ultraviolet (UV) light exposure of process gas mixtures and liquid cleaning chemistries. A substrate and / or process fluids are exposed to ultraviolet radiation. A process gas mixture being irradiated can include an oxidizing gas mixture (air, clean dry air, oxygen, peroxygen, etc.). Reducing gas mixtures, having hydrogen, can also be irradiated. Reactive species from irradiated gas mixtures are exposed to the substrate to chemically modify film properties, such as by facilitating a subsequent liquid cleaning step. Liquid cleaning chemistries on a substrate surface can also be irradiated. Such cleaning techniques enable shorter cleaning times, lower processing temperatures, and reduced damage to underlying or intermediate layers such as dielectric layers.

Capacitor switch with internal retracting impedance contactor

A capacitor switch including a power contactor and an impedance contactor located within a relatively slender container filled with dielectric gas. The container may be a “dead tank” or an insulator. For the insulator configuration, the switch also includes a conductive cap housing a charging impedance located on the end of the insulator. The power contactor includes a relatively fixed probe contact and a linearly moving socket. The impedance contactor is ring-type butt contactor surrounding the penetrating contactor that includes a retracting (but otherwise fixed) contact that surrounds the fixed probe, and a traveling ring contact that surrounds and moves with the moving socket contact. The impedance contactor closes before the power contactor on the closing stroke to introduce the charging impedance into the circuit. A puffer mechanism retards the expansion of the retracting contact on the opening stroke, which causes the impedance contactor to open before the power contactor.
