The present invention is an atherectomy catheter with a hollow head. The head has a window with at least one internal bladed edge, a plunger, and an adjustable angle nose. The angle of the nose can be manipulated by the operator to apply pressure to an artery wall, thereby forcing the window and the window cutting edge up against a plaque target on the opposite side of the artery wall. The position of the plunger can be manipulated by the operator to open or close the window, thereby exposing or not exposing the bladed window edge, and optionally also pinching off dangling plaque fragments. Cut plaque enters the hollow catheter head through the open window, and is stored inside the catheter for removal from the body and subsequent analysis. In some embodiments, the catheter head may have optional sensors, or the plunger may also serve as a rotary cutter.

Method, apparatus and computer program product for intuitive energy management of a short-range communication transceiver associated with a mobile terminal

The method, terminal and computer program product determine the acceleration of a mobile terminal associated with the short-range communication transceiver and adjusts the power consumption of the short-range communication transceiver based upon whether a predefined acceleration threshold has been exceeded. To adjust the power consumption, the frequency at which the transceiver is activated may be altered. Thus, the power consumption of the transceiver may be reduced when the acceleration threshold is exceeded and / or may be increased when the acceleration threshold is not exceeded. Due to the adjustment of power consumption by transceivers, power is conserved in the mobile terminals associated with transceivers, which permits the mobile terminals and the transceivers to operate longer without requiring charging or replacement of the power supply.

Vision based precision docking of vehicles

A three phase control arrangement is employed after visual detection of a target at greater range than otherwise available. The first and last phases employ an optimization criterion for which errors do not vary with distance from a target; limiting the initial error and process error in an intermediate phase which controls approach trajectory to the intended docking location and yielding repeatable high accuracy docking. The three phase approach with different control criteria and control gain parameters makes feasible a docking maneuver that begins at a much greater range and potentially greater lateral separation from the destination than would otherwise be possible, while providing control of both the final location and final orientation of the vehicle. A preferred visual thresholding technique provides consistency of results over a wide range of illumination and contrast conditions while limiting the computation burden for target image acquisition and tracking.

A lock key is unlocked in a state where a cellular phone is processing a call and using an external battery as the power supply. A “HIGH” signal is inputted to a connection detection circuit before the power supply from the external battery stops. A control circuit determines, based on the voltage detected by the connection detection circuit, that a battery unit in which the external battery is disposed and the main body of the cellular phone are in a detaching-state, and switches the power supply from the external battery to a built-in battery of the cellular phone via a battery change-over circuit. In other words, because the switching process of the power supply takes place in the above-mentioned detaching-state after unlocking the lock key, the power supply to the cellular phone is not interrupted, and the power-on state is kept, and the call, etc. are continued.

In a sensor network system, a communications network connects a set of sensors to a server collectively managing the set of sensors. First, the sensor-managing server acquires remaining drive times of batteries in the sensors, and specifies a target remaining drive time. The server then controls the operation of the sensors so that the remaining drive times of the batteries in the sensors are substantially equal to the target remaining drive time. This reduces the maintenance workload for a system manager, especially, in the recharging of the sensor batteries.

Voltage equalization control system of accumulator

A maximum / minimum voltage detector detects a maximum terminal voltage and a minimum terminal voltage of a plurality of accumulators. A voltage difference calculator calculates a voltage difference between the maximum terminal voltage and the minimum terminal voltage. A timer setting unit sets an operational time of a timer according to the voltage difference. An operational time controller presets the operational time in the timer to temporally control the operation of the voltage balanced circuit. Accordingly, an unnecessary loss of energy due to the long time operation of the voltage balance circuit is prevented, and a performance of the assembled battery is maintained.
