Tunable resonant leaky-mode N/MEMS elements and uses in optical devices

Mechanically tunable electromagnetic and photonic devices featuring enhanced spectral tunability with minimal mechanical movement are provided. These nano / micro-electromechanically (N / MEMS) tunable elements, including filters and pixels, rely on leaky-mode resonance effects in subwavelength photonic lattices that constitute periodic wavelengths. Such elements can operate in reflection (bandstop) or transmission (bandpass) modes, and can be arranged in one-dimensional or two-dimensional arrays, or operated as single units, and their spectral regions are controlled by the element design. Input electromagnetic radiation illuminates the element and is then filtered, modulated, analyzed or tuned by the element. Mechanical motion alters the structural symmetry, and therefore, the tuning properties, of the nanostructured subwavelength resonance elements. Further, incorporating metals and dielectrics to generate coexisting plasmonic and leaky-mode resonance effects adds to the versatility of the potential applications.

Array type ultra-thin submissive force sensor and preparation method thereof

The invention relates to an array-type compliant force sensor and a method of preparation thereof, and belongs to the technical field of a force sensor. The sensor comprises upper and lower poles which are enclosed into one piece, and a conduction macromolecule sensitive film compressed between the poles, and a front end circuit connected with the upper and lower poles through signal lines. The conduction macromolecule sensitive film primarily adopts the conduction macromolecule sensitive film having the compressive resistance effect consisting of graphitized carbon black as the conduction phase, single-component silastic as the insulation phase, and nanometer SiO2 dispersant. The upper and lower poles are a plurality of poles made on the substrate of the film by making use of flexible printed circuit board process and signal lines connected with each strip-shaped pole. The upper and lower strip-shaped poles are crossed and constitute an N*N sensitive cell array with the conduction macromolecule sensitive film. The signal lines are gathered to form led-out closely spaced cables. The invention has the characteristics of fine and thin structure, good flexibility, large range, high precision and high resolution.

A display system for providing a user viewable visible image, includes a view screen for receiving organic laser light and having a diffusing optical element so that the view screen, in response to organic laser light, produces a viewable visible image, wherein the diffusing optical element includes a viewing angle greater than 160° in a first viewing direction and greater than 100° in a second viewing direction orthogonal to the first direction; one or more organic laser light sources arranged in an array with each such laser light source including a vertical cavity design and means for projecting and modulating the intensity of the organic laser light from the array onto the view screen in a pattern to cause a visual image to be produced by the view screen; and means associated with the view screen for reducing speckle in the organic laser light.

The invention provides a laser imaging radar device and a distance measurement method thereof. The laser imaging radar device and the distance measurement method thereof aims at the problem that an existing distance range gate laser imaging radar is low in distance resolution. The laser imaging radar device comprises a laser device, a laser modulation unit, an optical antenna unit, a detecting unit, a data processing unit and an image processing unit, wherein the detecting unit is composed of a counter, a gate controller and an array detector, and the data processing unit is composed of an accumulator and a correlator. According to the distance measurement method, an information loading process is carried out on laser signals with constant amplitude by using a phase code pulse amplitude modulation mode. The laser imaging radar device and the distance measurement method thereof have the advantages that the equipment and the method combine the advantages of long detecting distances of the distance ranging gate layer imaging radar and the advantage of high distance measurement resolution of the pulse phase coding mode, and meanwhile the detect of low distance measurement resolution of the distance ranging gate layer imaging radar and the detect of low imaging speed of the pulse phase coding mode are avoided.

Resonant leaky-mode optical devices and associated methods

Optical devices with versatile spectral attributes are provided that are implemented with one or more modulated and homogeneous layers to realize leaky-mode resonance operation and corresponding versatile spectral-band design. The first and / or higher multiple evanescent diffraction orders are applied to excite one or more leaky modes. The one- or two-dimensional periodic structure, fashioned by proper distribution of materials within each period, can have a resulting symmetric or asymmetric profile to permit a broadened variety of resonant leaky-mode devices to be realized. Thus, the attributes of the optical device permit, among other things, adjacent, distinct resonance frequencies or wavelengths to be produced, convenient shaping of the reflection and transmission spectra for such optical device to be accomplished, and the wavelength resonance locations to be precisely controlled so as to affect the extent to which the leaky modes interact with each other. Further, the profile asymmetry allows for the precise spectral spacing of interactive leaky modes so as to provide greater flexibility in optical device design.

The six-dimensional force-torque sensor comprises a resilient body and straining plates which are arranged on the resilient body; the resilient body comprises four fixed platform, a central loading platform and four beam units, and each beam unit is arranged between two adjacent fixed platforms; each beam unit comprises an outer floating beam, an inner floating beam and a resilient beam, the outer floating beam is parallel to the inner floating beam, the outer floating beam and the inner floating beam form a pair of double-beam, two ends of the double-beam are respectively fixedly connected onto the side walls of the two fixed platforms, the resilient beam is vertical to the double-beam, one end of the resilient beam is fixedly connected onto the inner wall of the outer floating beam, and the other end of the resilient beam is fixedly connected onto one side wall of the central loading platform; the straining plates are divided into six groups and adhered onto the resilient beam; each group of straining plates form a Wheatstone bridge. By adopting the six-dimensional force-torque sensor, under the condition that the peripheral size of the sensor is not changed, the measuring range is effectively increased, and the rigidness of the sensor is improved.

The invention provides a capacitive micromachined tuning fork gyroscope. The gyroscope is the symmetrical dual-mass structural gyroscope, comprising a substrate and a framework arranged in the centre of the substrate, wherein the middle of the framework is provided with a framework beam perpendicular to the framework; two detection mass blocks are symmetrically arranged in the framework with the framework beam as a symmetry axis, and four corners of each detection mass block are connected with the framework and the framework beam through at least four drive beams; decoupling drive comb capacitors are respectively arranged at both ends of each detection mass block in the direction of a vertical axis; detection comb capacitors are symmetrically arranged on both outer sides of the framework in the direction of a horizontal axis; at least four detection beams are arranged on both outer sides of the framework in the direction of the vertical axis; and the detection beams are distributed symmetrically relative to the vertical axis and the horizontal axis and are fixed on the substrate through corresponding anchor points. According to the capacitive horizontal-axis micromachined tuning fork gyroscope provided by the invention, the mechanical coupling between the detection mode and the driving mode of the micromachined tuning fork gyroscope can be solved easily and effectively.
