A system for gait analysis may include a mobile data recording device configured to record accelerations associated with user motion and a data processing device in communication with the mobile data recording device. The data processing device can be configured to receive acceleration data from the mobile data recording device and process the acceleration data to extract stride data sequences from the acceleration data through use of bounding boxes on one or more points of the acceleration data. Each of the stride data sequences comprising data for a corresponding stride. The bounding boxes may define time and acceleration bounds. The data processing system may further determine one or more stride metrics. According to one embodiment, the data recording device may be a smartphone or other device having an accelerometer with a limited range that is inadequate to capture the full range of accelerations experienced by a runner.

A triaxial acceleration sensor and a triaxial angular rate sensor are mounted on each of the lower limb portions on both sides of one joint among joints constituting a part of one lower limb of a subject. The acceleration and angular rate of each lower limb portion are measured by the triaxial acceleration sensor and triaxial angular rate sensor while the subject is walking. The orientations of each lower limb portion while walking are calculated on the basis of the measured acceleration and angular rate. A three-dimensional model including the motion trajectory of one joint is constructed by linking the lower limb portions in the calculated orientation to each other. The angle formed by the acceleration vector of one joint when the heel strikes the ground to the movement trajectory in the sagittal plane is calculated as a gait parameter.

The pneumatic body weight support monitoring training system comprises a supporting frame, an airbag, an inflating subsystem, a treadmill, a treadmill control subsystem, a gait analyzing and gait correcting subsystem, and a human-computer interaction computer, wherein the inlet of the airbag is connected to the rear part of the supporting frame; the treadmill is positioned in the airbag; a pressure sensor is arranged on the lower surface of the treadmill and is used for measuring the pressure on the treadmill; a computer transmits a control command to the inflating subsystem and the treadmill control subsystem, and transmits a data command with the gait analyzing and gait correcting subsystem. According to the body weight support training system disclosed by the invention, the upper limbs of a patient are not restricted; the independent training participating consciousness of a sick child can be improved remarkably; rehabilitation assessment accompanies the overall rehabilitation process, so that the rehabilitation is based on evidence.
