Disposable anti-fog airway adapter

A disposable anti-fog airway adapter for use with a mainstream respiratory gas analyzer which provides a measurement of a patient's inhaled and exhaled gases. The airway adapter includes windows that are constructed of a thin, low heat capacity plastic that rapidly equilibrates to the temperature of the warm moist gases in the patient breathing circuit. In addition, the inside of the windows is also coated with an anti-fog surfactant either by laminating an anti-fog film with the window plastic prior to attaching the window to the airway adapter body or by first attaching the window to the airway adapter body and then applying the surfactant to the airway adapter after the window film is bonded in place so that the surfactant coats the entire inside of the adapter. The surfactant functions to increase the critical wetting tension of the surface it covers so that water on the window spreads into a uniform thin layer which does not absorb very much infrared energy and thus does not significantly reduce the signal strength. "Instant on" operation is accomplished because no heater and the like is necessary to warm up the windows to maintain them at an elevated temperature to prevent fogging. Numerous techniques are also provided for adhering the windows to the airway adapter body so that a substantially airtight seal may be obtained.

Method for cooling a static electronic power converter device and corresponding device

The present invention relates to a method of cooling a static electronic power converter device including at least one electrical circuit including an assembly of active components and of passive components mounted in a closed radiator housing from which only the inlet and the outlet of the circuit communicate with the outside of the housing, in which the distribution of the heat energy given off by the active and passive components is made uniform throughout the inside volume of the housing, and the heat energy is transferred from the radiator housing by forced convection in substantially uniform manner over the entire inside surface of the walls of the housing by causing at least one fluid contained inside the leaktight housing to circulate in a closed circuit. The invention also provides a static electronic power converter device enabling the method to be implemented.

Rotary Valve for Industrial Fluid Flow Control

A cylindrical rotary valve to control or affect fluid flow in processes where the fluid temperature must be maintained within a target range, the fluid pressure is varied and / or the amount of fluid flow is controlled comprising one or more of the following elements alone or in combination: (i) the use of a temperature control core in the valve shaft, (ii) the contoured or tapered shapes or the conduits (iii) the use of the valve to create predictable pulses or waves in the fluid being controlled, (iv) a modular system of valves where the valve body is fixed and the valve shaft is replaceable with a second valve shaft of different conduit shape, (v) a rotary valve with multiple inputs or multiple outputs for either mixing or diverting of input fluids, and (vi) the use of the valve in abrasive particulate blasting and in particular dry ice blasting.

Dc/dc converter

The present invention relates to a DC/DC converter (1) with primary side (11) consisting of a resonant converter, which DC/DC converter (1) comprises a first and a second transformer (T1, T2), connected in series on the primary side (11) and on the secondary side (12) of the DC/DC converter. The secondary side (12) comprises an autotransformer (Tcd) consisting of a first and a second winding (Tcda, Tcdb) connected to a common center tap (Tcdc), where the first winding (Tcda) of the autotransformer (Tcd) is connected to the secondary winding (T1b) of the first transformer (T1), forming a first output connection point (P1), the second winding (Tcdb) of the autotransformer (Tcd) is connected to the secondary winding (T2b) of the second transformer (T2), forming a second output connection point (P2), and the center tap (Tcdc) of the autotransformer (Tcd) is connected to the positive output (21) of the secondary side (12). The secondary side (12) also comprises a first and a second rectifying switching device (S1, S2), where the first rectifying switching device (S1) is connected between the first output connection point (P1) and the negative output (22) of the secondary side (12), and the second rectifying switching device (S2) is connected between the second output connection point (P2) and the negative output (22) of the secondary side (12). The present invention also relates to a DC/DC converter system comprising at least two inventive DC/DC converters (1).

Rotary magnetic field generating device for welding and working method thereof

The invention relates to a rotary magnetic field generating device for welding. The rotary magnetic field generating device comprises a coil support (2). A welding gun fixing clip (7) is fixedly arranged in the center of the coil support through a welding gun fixing bracket (6); and a welding gun (1) is installed on the welding gun fixing clip (7). Two groups of coils in the same height are fixedly arranged on the coil support (2), and the two groups of coils are spaced by 90 degrees. The two groups of coils are respectively connected with an excitation power supply through a waveform positioner; the two groups of coils are adjusted and are respectively connected with a synchronous sine alternating current and a synchronous cosine alternating current. A phase difference between the sine alternating current the cosine alternating current is 90 degrees. After being electrified, a magnetic field parallel to a coil axis is generated in the middle of each group of coils; and the magnetic field also changes in sine and cosine along with the changes of the electric current. The magnitude of the magnetic field is unchanged during a circling motion along the magnetic field direction, and accordingly a welding arc is also in the circling motion along with the magnetic field. When the welding gun moves forward, the electric arc moves forward spirally to finish the welding.

Horizontally arranged burners for boiler furnaces are provided where each burner includes a fuel nozzle surrounded by a secondary air outlet. The fuel nozzle and secondary air outlets may tilt in tandem with respect to an air plenum supplying inner secondary air and a fuel carrier providing fuel. Also provided are outer secondary air buckets that may independently tilt with respect to a frame connected to the air plenum. This arrangement can be installed as a retrofit in a conventional horizontal furnace system or in a newly built system. The fuel nozzle and secondary air outlet, and secondary air buckets may all tilt in unison or may all tilt independently. The tilting assists with optimizing a flame temperature profile within the furnace.
