A nasal CPAP treatment apparatus is disclosed with a flow generator coupled to a nasal mask. The mask has a nasal cushion forming a nose-receiving cavity. The cushion has a triangularly-shaped frame of resilient material with a mask engaging portion connected by a side wall to a face engaging portion which has a nasal bridge region, a cheek region and a lip region. The cushion may have a portion of the side wall in the nasal bridge region being other than straight to provide an improved sealing in the nasal bridge region. A plurality of membranes, preferably three, of resilient material extend substantially around the triangularly-shaped frame. Some of the membranes are thicker in the lip region than in the nasal bridge region to improve fit of the cushion in use.

Pump for molten materials with suspended solids

A molten material pump includes an impeller housed within a base member of the pump. A plurality of grooves are defined in a peripheral sidewall of the impeller for either drawing a molten material into the base member's chamber or pushing molten material out of the base member's chamber. The impeller is rotated by a rotatable shaft connected to an upper surface of the impeller. The rotatable shaft includes a non-circular shaped lower end dimensioned to be received within a cooperating opening in the impeller. The molten material pump further includes a connecting assembly for interconnecting components of the molten material pump. The connecting assembly includes a first mounting member attached to a first pump component that is dimensioned to be fitted within a cooperating recess of a second mounting member attached to a second pump component. In another embodiment of the invention, a stub shaft connects an upper shaft portion of the shaft to the impeller. The stub shaft includes a universal joint that is not rigidly connected to the upper shaft portion. In addition, the universal shaft is configured to allow the stub shaft and impeller to pivot. A floating deflector block weighs on an upper sealing block of the pump for enhancing the seal at the pump's bearing surfaces.

Pull-tab sealing member with improved heat distribution for a container

A seal and method of manufacture is provided for sealing containers such as bottles, jars and the like. The seal (i.e., closure) is formed with a lower sheet-like structure having a non-foam, heat-distributing layer thereon. The lower structure includes a foil support layer and has a polymer layer, such as a PET layer disposed on its bottom surface. A heat-activated sealant layer is provided under the bottom surface of the PET layer to bond the seal to a container opening. The non-foam, heat-distributing layer is preferably a polyolefin film. Seals in accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention also include a top portion, which is only partially bonded (directly or indirectly) to the bottom portion, so as to leave a tab portion extending from the seal. The top portion is advantageously bonded from periphery to periphery of the bottom portion and at or slightly offset from the diameter (middle) of the bottom portion. The top portion is advantageously formed with polymer material, such as an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) layer, having a layer of PET bonded on the top thereof. A release strip, which can have a release layer coated on the bottom thereof, is adhered to the top or bottom structures and used to prevent the tab from adhering to the lower structure.

A pipe joint has a body, and an annular packing is mounted to the opening of the body into which a fluid tube is inserted. The packing is provided with: a body section having a substantially rectangular cross-sectional shape; and a seal section protruding in the radial direction from the inner peripheral surface of the body section. The seal section is formed at substantially the center of the body section in the widthwise direction thereof and is formed in a triangular cross-sectional shape tapering to the inner peripheral side. When the fluid tube is inserted in the opening, the seal section of the packing makes sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the fluid tube.

The inner cover has a through hole for allowing the output shaft to protrude the inner cover therethrough with a seal made of felt to prevent dust from entering the inside of the inner cover. Apparatus and method for improving the dimensional quality of extruded food products having complex shapes

The present invention comprises an improved extruder die assembly and method for using same to improve the quality of dimensional design aspects of extruded, complexly shaped, direct expanded food products. The improved system includes an improved die assembly comprising a first die and a second die having at least one orifice. A majority of the total pressure drop occurs in the first die to pre-expand the dough prior to the dough entering the second die. The orifices in the first die can be individually configured to obtain differing dough flow speeds resulting in a desired flow pattern. A plurality of extruded dough ropes formed at each orifice exit of the first die can meld together in the bore and exit the second die. Color or flavor can be added at the first die to enhance the food product.

A cylindrical member which projects along the inner peripheral face of the stator from the end of the stator is formed by resin molding to be integrated with a section of the end plate. Electrical connector

The electrical connector may include a housing, a contact, a secondary lock, a grommet, a backplate, a bolt, a contact removal tool, and a splash guard. The housing includes openings which receive the contacts. The grommets are positioned in cavities at the rear of the housing. The housing and backplate are designed so that the grommets are subjected to compressive forces in order to enhance the sealing characteristic of the grommets. As the contact is inserted, a locking tab engages an opening in the contact and prevents the contact from being removed from the housing. The secondary locks will increase the retention of the contact in the electrical connector. In addition, the secondary lock may include a feature which permits the partial insertion and retention of the secondary lock prior to insertion of the contact. The secondary lock also assures that the contacts have been properly inserted. The electrical connector may also include a splash guard which would assist in deflecting water from the rear of the electrical connector. The electrical connector may also include a removal tool which may be used to remove contacts from the electrical connector. The removal tool can be stored in the backplate or the housing.
