The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly uniformly mixing a carbohydrate aqueous solution containing acidified titanium dioxide nano particles with a graphene oxide aqueous solution, adding potassium hydroxide, stirring to obtain a mixed dispersion, then atomizing and drying to obtain composite powder, and carbonizing and activating to obtain the porous microspheres. In the carbonization process, the carbohydrate forms porous and loose active carbon, groups on a graphene oxide sheet are fallen off so as to lead to the expansion of the graphene oxide microspheres, and the groups on the titanium dioxide nano particles are removed to collectively form the microporous microspheres. By virtue of further activation and pore-forming, the hole structure is richer. The graphene / active carbon / titanium dioxide composite porous microspheres obtained by the invention have large specific surface area and porous volume and low density, can efficiently adsorb and decompose harmful gases such as formaldehyde, and has an application prospect in the fields such as air purification and water treatment.
