The invention belongs to the technical field of industrial analysis, and particularly relates to a method for measuring copper content of anode copper through an automatic potentiometric titrator. Themethod comprises the steps that step 1: the preparation of a sodium hyposulfite standard solution; step 2, the processing of a pure copper piece; step 3, 30 minutes' preheating of the potentiometrictitrator; step 4, the calibration of the sodium hyposulfite standard solution; step 5, the analysis of actual sample anode copper. The reaction principle is 2Cu2+ + 4I-=2CuI / + I2, I2 + I-=I3- and 2S2O32- + I3-= S4O62- + 3I-. The end point of titration does need to be indicated depending on the variation of the color of an indicator, the kinds of analyzed sample is more complicated, for cases in which end point indicating is difficult, with color, cloudy or an appropriate indicator cannot be find at all, the titration is acute and has small errors, compared with a normal titration method in which color changing of the indicator is observed, to-be-measured elements can be more conveniently and accurately measured, the analysis precision is improved, artificial errors are reduced, indicatorsare not needed, needed reagent is less, and the cost is low.
