The invention discloses a
gladiolus crossbreeding method using a
sunlight greenhouse. Seeds are sown within the mid-to-end of August and the first ten-day period of September when the outdoor highest temperature in not higher than 29 DEG C; cold protection, heat preservation and ventilation are carried out after seedball treatment,
soil treatment,
soil preparation,
sowing and hauling are carried out; daily management refers to
moisture management, humiture management and topdressing; artificial
pollination is carried out after flowering at the last ten-day period of November in the same year; and seeds are mature 5-6 weeks later. The
gladiolus crossbreeding method can greatly
delay the flowering phase, effectively solves the inconsistent flowering phase problems of different varieties, and simultaneously provides enough artificial
pollination time for crossbreeding work, reduces
workload because bagging is not needed before and after flowering, the operation of
stamen removal is only carried out before
pollen sacs break, and bagging is also not needed before and after
pollination, and greatly increases maturing rate, wherein the maturing rate is over 80% and each
capsule contains over 60 grains. By adopting the
sunlight greenhouse for crossbreeding, the
sowing time is delayed, and seasons with high temperature,
high humidity and abundant rainwater are avoided, fruit setting is favored and
insect pest is prevented.
