336 results about "Subsoil" patented technology

Subsoil is the layer of soil under the topsoil on the surface of the ground. Like topsoil, it is composed of a variable mixture of small particles such as sand, silt and clay, but with a much lower percentage of organic matter and humus. Below the subsoil is the substratum, which can be residual bedrock, sediments, or aeolian deposits. As it is lacking in dark humus, subsoil is usually paler in color than the overlying topsoil. It may contain the deeper roots of some plants, such as trees, but a majority of plant roots lie within the topsoil.

Method of constructing a geological model of a subsoil formation constrained by seismic data

An method of constructing a geological model of a subsoil formation constrained by seismic data having application to petroleum reservoir development is disclosed. Logs relative to geological properties are acquired and a seismic facies cube is constructed. Logs relative to geological properties and logs relative to seismic facies are then simulated. Then distribution of proportions is estimated at any point on the subsoil by means of the acquired logs in the well and of the simulated logs. A seismic constraint is then defined by constructing a lithologic facies average proportion cube from these estimated proportion distributions. Finally, a geological model wherein the geological properties are constrained by this lithologic facies average proportion cube is constructed.

Method for controlling salt and saving water of nutritional soil for planting crops on mudflat saline-alkali land

The invention discloses a method for controlling salt and saving water of nutritional soil for planting crops on a mudflat saline-alkali land. The method comprises the following steps of: determining a salt control target value according to a salt-tolerance threshold of planted crops; restraining salt content and making moisture by irrigating soil moisture water into the mudflat saline-alkali land; performing deep plowing and deep tillage after the soil is dry; paving crushed crop straws under the surface of the soil; seeding after leveling the land; and finally returning the crop straws into the land for covering a sown land surface. Due to the adoption of the technical scheme, water resource is saved; and the irrigation amount can be reduced in the growth and development stages of the crops. When the soil moisture water is irrigated before sowing, because a four-electrode salt content sensor is adopted for monitoring a desalting process of the soil in real time, an irrigation salt control target and irrigation stop time are defined, and water resource loss is reduced; simultaneously, the straws are buried deeply and covered on the land surface, continuous damage caused by a capillary action is caused; an uplink surface congregation effect of the salt content in subsoil and underground water is prevented; soil salt return is inhibited effectively without irrigating for washing the salt in a dry season so that the water resource is saved; in addition, water loss is reduced because of the coverage on the surface of the land, the moisture keeping effect of the soil is improved and the irrigation amount in the growth and development stage of the crops can be reduced.

Method for quantitative evaluation of fluid pressures and detection of overpressures in an underground medium

Method for evaluating fluid pressures in an underground zone by means of seismic and well data. The zone studied is divided into several time analysis intervals. For each of these intervals, a pre-stack stratigraphic inversion of the seismic data is then carried out using geological a priori information, and a lithoseismic facies cube is determined by lithoseismic analysis. Then, for each facies, relations connecting the seismic impedances of wells to differential pressures in wells are determined in each analysis interval. Finally, a differential pressure cube is determined using the previous relations, as well as a confining pressure cube, in order to determine the fluid pressures in the subsoil by simple difference between these two cubes. Application: petroleum sphere for the detection of overpressure zones during drilling for example.
