The present invention relates to a novel organometallic compound, and more particularly, to a luminescent organometallic compound in which intermolecular interaction is inhibited by means of introducing a germanium substituent, thereby improving light-emitting characteristics. The present invention also relates to an organic electronic device, specifically, to an organic light-emitting diode using the compound. According to the present invention, a germanium substituent is introduced to the parent organometallic iridium compound, thus inhibiting an intermolecular interaction in the solid state and enabling the compound of the present invention to be effectively used in solution processing. When the compound of the present invention is used as part of a light-emitting layer of an organic light-emitting diode, the light-emitting efficiency of the light-emitting diode may be significantly improved. In particular, a layer of iridium or an iridium compound, preferably metallic iridium or iridium oxide supported on TiO2, is provided on the anode to electrolyze available water and pass the majority of the current during a reversal of the fuel cell, thereby preventing damage to the MEA. The iridium or iridium compound is applied to an anode structure according to a predetermined pattern, with only part of the anode active area containing Ir. The parts of the MEA that do not contain Ir are not expected to suffer degradation from Ir cross-over, so that overall degradation of the cell will be diminished. Having less precious metals will also translate into less cost.

The preparation method comprises the steps of preparing the ligand of the catalyst, then dissolving 1 part by weight of the copolymer in 10-100 parts by weight of the acetic acid, stirring, heating under reflux, adding the iridium compound which accounts for 3-10% of the weight of the copolymer, carrying out reaction for 10-60min, cooling to the room temperature, using ether for precipitation, filtering and then obtaining a copolymer iridium catalyst. The 1 part by weight of the copolymer is added into the acetic acid solution containing (Ir(CO)2I)2 or (Ir(CO)2Cl)2 under stirring, the feeding is 3-10% of the weight of the copolymer calculated by the weight of iridium, the reaction is carried out for 10-30min under stirring, the ether is used for precipitation, and the copolymer iridium catalyst is obtained by filtering. The copolymer iridium catalyst is used for preparing the acetic acid by methanol carbonylation reaction and has good catalytic performance.
