Multipotent amniotic fetal stem cells

A source of multipotent amniotic fluid / fetal stem cells (MAFSCs) is disclosed. MAFSC are of fetal origin and have a normal diploid karyotype. These cells are characterized by the following cell surface markers: SSEA3, SSEA4, Tra-1-60, Tra-1-81, Tra-2-54, HLA class I, CD13, CD44, CD49b, CD105 and are distinguished by the absence of the antigen markers CD34, CD45, and HLA Class II, but are distinguished from mouse embryonic stem cells in that these cells do not express the cell surface marker SSEA1. MAFSC express the stem cell transcription factor Oct-4. MAFSC cells can be propagated for an indefinite period of time in continuous culture in an undifferentiated state. The MAFSCs have the ability to differentiate in culture in a regulated manner, into three or more subphenotypes. Cells can then be differentiated into endodermal, mesodermal and ectodermal derived tissues in vitro and in vivo. A method for isolating, identifying, expanding and differentiating MAFSCs is disclosed.

System and method for storing, creating, and organizing financial information electronically

A system and / or method which offers customer-driven aggregation of data, with the ability to dynamically modify the filing hierarchy and to store, create and organize digital financial information. The system enables customers to establish a hierarchy of file folders, file any payment whether paper or electronic in a folder for future reference, provide secure storage for an indefinite period for any payment, including credit card payments, debit card transactions, imaged checks, electronic bill payments or account statements. As such, customers can create and change at will their file folder hierarchy and file documents with notes. Customers can set a preference for automatic filing based on pre-established criteria such as folders based standard merchant categories or by month. Customers can also ‘file’ payments when they are created or viewed in the transaction history. The systems of the exemplary embodiments provide a search function, enabling retrieval of documents based on a document storage time stamp, date last accessed, date posted, dollar amount, or by file folder, group, or category. Customers can view document access history. Further, the systems offer customers convenience, privacy, security and prevention of document loss from disaster, and protection from document or identity theft.

In-field behavior recording device for golf putting

The present invention relates generally to the field of behavior sensing and recording device. More specifically, the present invention is to measure and record full motion related signals on a part of putter.A miniaturized data logging device for golf putters that records outputs from motion sensors during whole game is described. Utilizing accelerometers, the device obtains relative motion invoked at a putter head without affecting player's performance. The device also records such information for multiple incidents or for an indefinite period of time. The device will be attached on the surface of a putter head at which motion behavior analysis takes place. The present invention uses high density memory chip and USB for data transfer. The flash multi media storage card is also used for transferring the recorded data to personal computing devices such as personal computer, personal digital assistant (PDA), or a plurality of mobile devices. Data transfer is facilitated by a data uploading utility, which automatically detects inserting media and assists to transfer the record data into a file folder in the personal computing devices. The present invention can be used for either training purpose or recording in situ behavior of player during actual games or events. Sufficient data recorded and analyzed during training can be used as reference performance data to compare the actual behavior of the player during the events. When the present invention is combined other recording devices for physiological data such as heart rate as well as user-determined action result, the player can recognize what happened during the events through post-analysis of the recorded behavior which can be helpful to modify strategy or improve training method for the player.

Grave marker grid support system

The present invention discloses a method and system for maintaining the position of headstones in a cemetery. Previously, headstones installed at a cemetery may shift over time. As the ground beneath the headstone is subjected to erosion from frost, rain, snow, and wind, the headstone may settle and eventually sink partially into the ground. In some cases the headstones may become loose and fall, possibly getting damaged. The present invention provides a subterranean bridge comprised of concrete that the headstone rests upon. In this way, the headstone is supported by the concrete bridge structure, and is less affected by soil conditions, ground water, and freeze-thaw cycles. Since, by definition, the headstones are to be at the cemetery for an indefinite period of time, it is desirable to have a system to maintain the position of the headstone for the long term. The bridge is comprised of two caissons and a plinth. The plinth straddles the caissons, and the headstone rests on the plinth, which has drainage means to prevent standing water on the plinth.

Retention of a stack address during primary master failover

The present invention features embodiments of alleviating the impact to a system of stack switches, as well as to neighboring nodes communicating with such a system, when a primary master switch to secondary master switch failover occurs. The features of the present invention, generally enables a system of stack switches to retain, for a fixed or indefinite period of time, its stack address even when multiple primary master to secondary master failovers occur. This way recalculation of certain protocols - e.g., spanning trees and link aggregations - and updating of certain tables - e.g., address resolution protocol (ARP) and routing tables - are minimized.

System for evacuating the residual heat from a liquid metal or molten salts cooled nuclear reactor

A system for evacuating the residual heat from a nuclear reactor cooled with liquid metal or molten salts has two types of heat exchangers immersed in the primary fluid of the reactor: heat exchangers with higher power density, which use boiling water as secondary cooling fluid and are particularly suitable for evacuating the residual heat in the first days after turning-off of the reactor; and heat exchangers operating with atmospheric air or with water and suitable for evacuating the residual heat for indefinite periods of time. Both types of heat exchangers present a bundle of heat-exchange elements, shaped in such a way that the secondary fluid circulating in each element is separated from the primary fluid of the reactor by a double wall of the element, which delimits a gap introduced in which is a pressurized inert gas having the function of continuous monitoring of the integrity of the heat exchanger and of thermal resistance calibrated for preventing solidification of the primary fluid of the reactor in the heat exchanger.

Method and package design for cryopreservation and storage of cultured tissue equivalents

This invention is directed to an efficient cryopreservation package design of harvested mammalian tissues and living cultured tissue equivalents made by in vitro technology. The invention involves immersing a mammalian tissue or cultured tissue equivalent in a cryoprotectant solution, agitating the cryoprotectant solution and the immersed tissue to achieve effective penetration of the cryoprotectant solution into the tissue, and then freezing the tissue at a very slow freezing rate. In the freezing step, extracellular ice formation is initiated by seeding. The cryopreserved tissue may be stored for indefinite periods of time prior to use. The cultured tissue equivalent is an in vitro model of the equivalent human tissue, such as skin or cornea, which, when retrieved from storage can be used for transplantation or implantation in vivo or for screening compounds in vitro.

Method of cancer therapy by in situ production of F5 antibodies

The invention refers to the production of antibodies named F5 in a cancer carrier and the effect they exert on the development of guest's tumor. F5 may down regulate the proliferation and life of cancer cells regardless the histological nature of the malignancy and the stage of tumor growth. The novel antibody may be raised exclusively in a tumor-carrier guest by challenge with the immunoglobin antigen FIV Abs. This kind of immunization imitates at a certain extent the scheme of classical vaccination with an extern pathogen justifying thus by a semantic derogation the anti-cancer therapeutic vaccination name. The uniqueness of F5 is the result of the adjustment between the conventional antigen FIV to the reactivity in cancer known as premunition. Theoretical considerations and experimental data bring evidence of the efficiency of multi clonal F5 Abs in the treatment of primary or metastatic tumors. The anticancer effect of F5 is only possible as a result of the structural mimicry of the agent with the cancer autocrine growth factors. The blocking of cancer receptors with F5 Abs may produce regression of the primary or metastatic tumors, or arrest of cancer proliferation for indefinite periods of time or, according to circumstances to reduce quantitatively the radio-chemo therapy and the extension of surgical intervention in case of necessity.
