Syringes, syringe interfaces and syringe plungers for use with medical injectors

ActiveUS20050113754A1SimplerEasily and readily and securely fastenedInfusion syringesMedical devicesSyringeInjector
A syringe includes a body and a plunger movably disposed within the body. The plunger includes a wall having an inner surface and one or more inwardly projecting flanges disposed on the inner surface of the wall. Preferably, the inner surface of the wall defines a retaining shoulder formed along an axial plane thereof and the inwardly projecting flanges are radially spaced along the interior surface of the wall and extend in a longitudinal direction proximal to the retaining shoulder. The syringe may be used with an injector including a drive member. The drive member preferably includes at least one retaining member adapted to engage the retaining shoulder of the syringe plunger to allow the drive member to retract the plunger with the body of the syringe. Further, the drive member preferably includes one or more outwardly extending flange members adapted to be engaged by the inwardly projecting flanges of the syringe plungers. The outwardly extending flange members are operably linked to the at least one retaining member such that, when the syringe body is rotated and the inwardly projecting flanges on the plunger engage and move the outwardly extending flange members on the drive member, the at least one retaining member on the drive member is retracted and disengaged from the retaining shoulder of the syringe plunger.

Architecture for automotive electrical body systems

ActiveUS20100294750A1Superior flexibility , scalability , cost efficiencySimplerDC motor speed/torque controlAC motor controlEngineeringBody system
An automotive electrical body system includes a plurality of electrical assemblies coupled to at least one automotive body component. Each of the assemblies includes a heating element for heating the at least one component, a motor for actuating the at least one component, or a switch configured to toggle the at least one component on and off. Each of the assemblies also includes a wireless communication module for receiving wireless signals, and, in response to the wireless signals, controlling operation of the heating element or motor. An electrical conductor interconnects each of the electrical assemblies and carries electrical power to each of the electrical assemblies.

Latch for a vehicle

A latch assembly includes a latch bolt having a power closure abutment, a first safety abutment and a closed abutment that is moveable between an open position, a first safety position and a closed position. The latch assembly includes a pawl including a pawl tooth having an engaged position defined by engagement between the pawl tooth and one of the first safety abutment and the closed abutment at which the pawl releaseably retains the latch bolt in one of the first safety position and the closed position, respectively, and a released position in which the latch bolt is free to move to the open position. The latch assembly also includes a closure element having a first abutment and a second abutment. The first abutment is releaseably engageable with the closure abutment. The closure element has a first position at which the closure element is disengaged from the closure abutment, a second position at which the first abutment of the closure element is engaged with the closure abutment and the latch bolt is in the first safety position, and a third position at which the first abutment of the closure element is engaged with the closure abutment and the latch bolt is in the closed position. When the closure element is in the first position and the latch bolt is in the first safety position, actuation of a power actuator causes the closure element to move through the second position to the third position, thereby closing the latch. During movement of the closure elements from the second position into the third position, the closure abutment is positioned generally between the first abutment and the second abutment.

Ultra-miniature electro-mechanical safety and arming device

A ultra-miniature, electro-mechanical, MEMS type safe and arming (S&A) device for medium- or large-artillery rounds, including, three sequenced S&A interlocks: a setback slider, which is positioned partially within and partially extending from an arming slider, such that, upon firing acceleration, the setback slider will compress into a channel within the arming slider (unlocking the 1st interlock); freeing the arming slider to move toward its arming position under urging of the round's spin; a stop and release mechanism formed by a flexible latch arm which impacts upon a safety catch located within the frame in which the arming slider is mounted, such that the arming slider is stopped until a release command signal is initiated by the fuze circuit, triggering a spot charge which generates an expanding gas wave that flexes the latch arm from contact with the safety catch (unlocking the 2nd interlock), thereby freeing the arming slider to continue its motion into an arming position (unlocking the 3rd interlock) and aligning the parts of the firetrain within the device, such that upon signal from the fuze circuit an output charge from the device will ignite the acceptor charge within the round.

Method and apparatus for inter network retrieval of user related data

Data related to a subscriber in a communications network is to be retrieved. A first Generic User Profile (GUP) server receives an incoming request for the subscriber related data from a data consumer in a first communication domain and determines that the data is located in a second communication domain. An outgoing request for the data is then transmitted to a second GUP server in the second communication domain via an interface. The second GUP server then retrieves the requested subscriber related data from a network repository and transmits the requested data to the first GUP server, which forwards the requested data to the data consumer. Service access to subscriber data located in other domains than the GUP Server is enabled, for example when the subscriber is roaming. The subscriber related data can also be distributed in both the first and second communication domain.

Optical device, and production method for photonic crystal slab

An optical device which includes a GI-type photonic crystal slab which includes: a first member which has a distribution of refractive indexes reduced in both directions from an optical axis of incident light as to a first direction vertical to the optical axis; and a second member periodically placed in substance among the first members as to a second direction different from the first direction, wherein the distribution of refractive indexes of the first member which relates to the first direction, a thickness which relates to the first direction of the GI-type photonic crystal slab, a wavelength of the incident light and an incident end beam spot radius ω1 which relates to the first direction inside an incident end of the GI-type photonic crystal slab entered by the light of the incident light are determined to have the incident light substantially confined inside the GI-type photonic crystal slab as to the first direction.

Fast-moving screw assembly

In a method for operating a screw assembly, having a spindle, which is rotatably supported on at least one end, and a nut, which is drivable by the spindle in a forward-feed direction, the nut being braced transversely to the forward-feed direction on a primary subassembly, and the spindle rpm is selected as a function of the position of the nut such that this rpm is just below a position-dependent limit rpm, in order to attain the shortest possible travel time.

Communications system including jammer using continuous phase modulation (CPM) and associated methods

A communications system includes a target receiver having a passband and configured to receive an intended signal within the passband. The communications system also includes a jammer configured to jam the target receiver from receiving the intended signal. The jammer has at least one antenna, a jammer receiver coupled to the at least one antenna, a jammer transmitter coupled to the at least one antenna, and a controller configured to cooperate with the jammer receiver. The controller is configured to detect the intended signal and to generate an interfering signal comprising a continuous phase modulation (CPM) waveform having a constant envelope so that the interfering signal at least partially overlaps the passband of the target receiver.
