Using standard current curves to correct non-uniformity in active matrix emissive displays

A plurality of gray level versus OLED current curves are generated by measuring many OLED panels from a stable manufacturing process, and those curves are stored as standard gray level versus OLED current curves. When a new OLED display is manufactured from the process, each of its sub-pixels is characterized as having the characteristics of one of the pre-generated standard gray level versus OLED current curves, based on a gray level versus OLED current measurement at a single gray level. This drastically reduces the time it takes to determine the TFT gate voltage versus OLED current characteristics of the sub-pixels in the OLED display. The OLED display can use the selected one of the pre-generated standard gray level versus OLED current curves to correct non-uniformities of the sub-pixels in the OLED display caused by non-uniform TFTs in the active matrix.

Method and system for monitoring and validating electronic transactions

The invention provides a method for detection of misuse of an identity during an electronic transaction. In a first embodiment, the method comprises the steps of: receiving a notification to authenticate the use of an identity at a first location, wherein the identity is associated with a first wireless terminal; determining an approximate location of the first wireless terminal based on cached position information, the approximate location of the first wireless terminal being a second location; determining whether the first and second locations match in geographical proximity; and generating an alert if the first and second locations do not match in geographical proximity. In a second embodiment, an approximate location of the first wireless terminal is determined based on cached position information stored in a GPS position database. In a third embodiment, the approximate location of the first wireless terminal is automatically determined prior to the initiation of a transaction.

System and method for dynamically inserting prefetch tags by the web server

A method and system for embedding prefetch tags in the HTML of a user-requested webpage so that, after delivery of the user-requested webpage to the user, the proxy can cache webpages that the user is likely to request. After the browser issues a request for a webpage to the proxy, the proxy passes the request to the web server. The web server obtains the webpage and embeds prefetch tags into the HTML of the webpage. The selection of prefetch tags is determined by a personalization database or log / statistics database in the web server. The web server sends the user-requested webpage back to the user through the proxy. The proxy reads the prefetch tags and prefetches the webpages identified in the prefetch tags. The webpages identified in the prefetch tags are stored in the proxy cache memory so that they can be quickly sent to the user upon request.

Parallel merge/sort processing device, method, and program

In the basic form of merge processing, that is sort processing, two sorted partial data string pairs are input, and one series of sorted data string is output as a whole. Conventionally, high parallelism of this processing has been considered difficult. A method for dividing a sorted partial data string pair into a plurality of segment pairs, if invented, would allow an advanced parallel merge processing to be performed even in a homogeneous configuration parallel computer system, such as a tightly coupled multi-processor sharing a main storage. The basis of merge processing is processing to input a pair of two sorted partial data strings and to output one sorted data string. A method for sub-dividing this input data string pair into arbitrary data string pairs from the first part of both data strings of the input data string pair, while considering the magnitude of the key value, has been invented. This method, if implemented, enables a merge operation at a parallelism k if the data string is divided into any number of data string pairs, for example, k sets of data string pairs, and if merging in descending order (merging the data string pair from the first part to the last part thereof, and outputting it from the first part to the last part in the output area) and merging in ascending order (merging the data string pair from the last part to the first part thereof and outputting it from the last part to the first part in the output area) are used, a merge operation with a parallelism 2k can also be possible.
