A cryptographic encoded, ticket issuing and collection system for real-time purchase of tickets by purchasers at remote user stations in an information network that includes a plurality of remote user stations coupled to a server in an information network, e.g., the Internet, for purchase of services, products, or tickets to an event. An operator of the remote user station selects a ticket for purchase to an event using standard protocols of information network. An electronic ticket is transmitted to the operator and includes a cypher code created using a public key cryptography system. The operator displays the electronic ticket for verification purposes and proceeds to print out the ticket at the station. The ticket is presented to a ticket collector whereupon the ticket is scanned by a portable terminal for decoding the cypher code using a public key reloaded into the terminal by the producers of the event. The decoded cypher code is compared against the event description stored in the portable terminal and if equal, the ticket is accepted for admission to the event. The ticket information is stored in the portable terminal and subsequently uploaded to the information system to check for duplicate tickets.

If such a user plane address is found from the storage means, data associated with provisioning of the requested service is communicated to the mobile user equipment over a user plane connection associated with said address found from the storage means. If no user plane address can be found from the storage means based on the identifier, a new user plane connection is established, and data associated with provisioning of the requested service is communicated to the mobile user equipment over said established user plane connection.

An agent based system assists in preparing an individual for an upcoming meeting by helping him / her retrieve relevant information about the meeting from various sources based on preexisting information in the system. The system obtains input text in character form indicative of the target meeting from a calendar program that includes the time of the meeting. As the time of the meeting approaches, the calendar program is queried to obtain the text of the target event and that information is utilized as input to the agent system. Then, the agent system parses the input meeting text to extract its various components such as title, body, participants, location, time etc. The system also performs pattern matching to identify particular meeting fields in a meeting text. This information is utilized to query various sources of information on the web and obtain relevant stories about the current meeting to send back to the calendaring system. For example, if an individual has a meeting with Netscape and Microsoft to talk about their disputes, the system obtains this initial information from the calendaring system. It will then parse out the text to realize that the companies in the meeting are “Netscape” and “Microsoft” and the topic is “disputes”. It will then surf the web for relevant information concerning the topic.
