Method and apparatus for automatic volume control in an audio system

An audio system (100) is provided with improved adaptive filter (206) to automatically adjust signal gain depending on the ambient noise level. The original music signal passes through a normalized adaptive filter (206), and is subtracted from the ambient room signal detected by a microphone (120), resulting in an error signal that is an estimate of the ambient noise. The error signal is used to update a set of adaptation coefficients so that the normalized adaptive filter more accurately simulates the room transfer function, resulting in an better estimate of the ambient noise. The audio system (100) is calibrated automatically upon initial use to determine adaptation coefficients and noise threshold level to prevent runaway gain. System parameters are adjusted using a controller (124) with a user-friendly interface (400).

An object of the invention is to provide an apparatus which performs correction only to a high-brightness portion generated in a particular region, in which a decrease in brightness is necessary, and glaze is removed or reduced. A correction process in which the brightness or the lightness is decreased is simply performed to a pixel in which the brightness or the lightness is high, but a predetermined region (for example, face, eyes, and mouth) of a subject is detected and a degree of correction of each pixel is determined based on the detection result (a position and a color of the predetermined region). Therefore, the region in which the decrease in brightness is not necessary is maintained at high brightness, and the image correction is performed only to the region in which the decrease in brightness is necessary (for example, the region in which the glaze of a skin is generated).

Therefore, since it is possible to prevent a phenomenon that the steered wheel is largely controlled by a smaller steering angle from being generated in the case that the vehicle runs on the road surface having the low μ, there is obtained an effect that a stability in the vehicle motion can be improved.

Table miter saw

A table miter saw includes a motor assembly and tilt plate assembly holding a blade for angular adjustment within a table slot. The blade is mounted to the motor below a table supported by a glide assembly situated within a frame. A handle assembly and the tilt plate assembly are attached to the glide assembly and move the blade longitudinally within the slot. The tilt plates are attached to a shaft between the miter side and the table side of the saw and control knobs operate the shaft to move gears within the tilt plates and change the angle of the blade. The tilt plate assembly moves along the shaft when the blade moves. A brake lock assembly in connection with the control knobs locks the angle of the blade. The height of the blade is set using a blade height lock in connection with the handle assembly for operation during miter cuts, which in addition includes a blade height stop for use during table saw operation. Mirrored miter fences are connected to the table top by star receptacles with gears that operate cooperatively for uniform angle change to make complementary miter cuts. The miter fences receive accessories as needed for complex cuts. The miter fences are removable, and a rip fence is attachable for table saw rip cuts.
