Synchronizing file updates between two cloud controllers of a distributed filesystem

The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for synchronizing file updates between two cloud controllers of a distributed filesystem. Two or more cloud controllers collectively manage distributed filesystem data that is stored in the cloud storage systems; the cloud controllers ensure data consistency for the stored data, and each cloud controller caches portions of the distributed filesystem. During operation, a cloud controller receives a request from a client to access a file in the distributed filesystem. The cloud controller sends a synchronization update request for the file to a second cloud controller and in response receives a synchronization update for the file from the second cloud controller.

System and method for providing handover of a mobile IP terminal in a wireless network

Disclosed is a system for providing handover of a mobile node in a wireless network supporting Mobile IP (Internet Protocol). The mobile node sends, when handover is needed, a request for neighbor access router information to a first access router currently communicating with the mobile node, and selects, if the neighbor access router information is received, a second access router serving as a target access router using the received neighbor access router information. The first access router exchanges access router information with a neighbor access router, provides neighbor access router information to the mobile node upon receiving the neighbor access router information request from the mobile node, and redirects data to be delivered to the mobile node to the second access router to which the mobile node will be handed over. The second access router forwards data to be delivered to the mobile node, received from the first access router, to the corresponding mobile node.

Method for setting up route path through route discovery in a mobile ad hoc network using partial route discovery

Disclosed is a method for setting up a route path between a source node and a destination node through route discovery in a mobile ad hoc network. The source node transmits a RREQ message to the destination node, and the destination node transmits a RREP message to the source node in response to the RREQ. A first intermediate node having failed to transmit the original RREP stores the original RREP, generates a PRREQ message, and transmits the generated PRREQ to neighbor intermediate nodes. If an ID of the PRREQ and an original IP address included in the received PRREQ are identical to an ID and an original IP address of the RREQ received from the source node, a second intermediate node receiving the PRREQ generates a PRREP message corresponding to the PRREQ and transmits the PRREP to the first intermediate node. If a partial route path is set up between the first intermediate node and the second intermediate node as the first intermediate node receives the PRREP, the first intermediate node transmits the original RREP via the partial route path. Then the source node receives the original RREP, and completes setup of the route path.

A system for linearizing the output of a high power amplifier (HPA) designed to transmit an RF modulated signal includes in its transmit section a digital up-converter for processing baseband input signals and generating a desired digital RF waveform, T(s). The desired digital RF waveform T(s) is then fed to a digital predistorter circuit for producing a predistorted digital RF waveform P(s)T(s) which, as modified, may be applied via a high sampling speed high linearity digital to analog converter to the high power amplifier (HPA) to produce an output signal which is a linear function of the baseband input signal. The digital predistorter circuit may be of the adaptive type or of the predictive type. Circuits embodying the invention may include encoding circuitry for converting multi-bit signals to a serial stream of single-bit pulses for enabling simplification in the digital to analog conversion. In accordance with the invention, corrections for non-linearity of the HPA may be made directly on the RF waveform using ultra-high speed superconducting electronics (SCE) and decreasing the time delay between sensing a transmitted signal and generating a correcting (linearizing) signal.

Method for processing traffic data in a wireless communications system

The present invention concerns a method of processing traffic data in Layer 2 of a wireless communications system, whereby the MAC layer is arranged, after receipt of a traffic data volume report from the RLC layer, to process said data volume report and to then issue an acknowledgement message to the RLC layer. The method ensures that the RLC and MAC layers are synchronised with respect to traffic data processing. The MAC layer may be arranged to issue an acknowledgement to the RLC layer only where it determines from processing a data volume report that the RLC layer is not permitted to transmit data in a next or subsequent corresponding TTI. The present invention also concerns a process for data discard in a Radio Link Control (RLC) layer of a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) wireless communications system such as a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS). The process involves, responsive to the triggering of a data discard operation, determining whether the RLC layer is permitted to transmit data. Where it is determined that the RLC layer is not permitted to transmit data in a next or subsequent TTI, the method includes the step of informing the RLC layer that data is not required.
