Damping Scope Mount

An exemplary scope mount includes a connecting base and a buffer. The connecting base includes a fixing groove for connecting a gun body. The fixing groove extending passing through two opposite sides of the connecting base. The connecting base also includes a receiving groove opposite to the fixing groove for receiving a buffer. The connecting base further includes two securing grooves at two opposite sides of the receiving groove for fixing a scope. The buffer can decrease the effect of the recoil strength to the lens inside the scope. In operation, the instant pull from the gun body to the scope mount and from the scope to internal lens of the scope can be correspondingly minimized, thereby protecting the internal lens of the scope. Moreover, the connecting base can be rapidly mounted to or removed from gun body due to fixing groove.

Characterising eye-related optical systems

An instrument and method for characterizing eye-related optical systems, including the live human eye involves scanning an illuminating light beam from a light source and light detector unit from element to element of a beam deflector array of elements arranged laterally across the optical axis of eye. At each successive element the illuminating beam is deflected to form an interrogating beam that is directed into the eye at a peripheral angle that depends upon the lateral location of the deflector element. A return beam is reflected or back-scattered from the cornea and returned via the same deflector element to the light source and detector unit. This allows the interrogating beams to be scanned sufficiently rapidly into the eye to greatly reduce the variation of eye fixation and gaze that accompany other methods of measuring peripheral refraction or aberration of a natural eye. In addition to or instead of scanning the illuminating beam over each element of the array, all or multiple elements of the array can be illuminated simultaneously and the multiple interrogating rays thus generated can be gated by the use of an LCD aperture plate. Alternatively, an LCD aperture plate can be interposed between a wide illuminating beam and operated to selectively illuminate the beam deflector.

Method and apparatus for enhancing the accuracy of CRDS measurements

A method and apparatus for enhancing the accuracy of spectroscopic measurements using a cavity ringdown spectrometer (CRDS) is provided. A first aspect of the invention consists of a novel algorithm for the processing of ring-down data that significantly reduces the amplitude of an exponential fitting artifact, and thereby gives a better estimate of the actual loss. The primary cause of the artifact is the presence of an unwanted backwards-traveling wave that counter-propagates within the ringdown cavity. Scattering due to small imperfections at the cavity mirrors produces this wave and its intensity may be minimized by adjustment of the mirror positions during cavity construction. A second aspect of the invention consists of an apparatus for measuring the backscattered wave within a cavity to allow such cavity mirror adjustments to be made.

Extreme ultraviolet light source and extreme ultraviolet light source target

An object of the present invention is to provide an extreme ultraviolet light source target which can emits extreme ultraviolet light with high emission efficiency. A solid target made of heavy metal or heavy-metal compound and having a density 0.5 to 80% that of the crystal density is used. When the target is irradiated with a laser beam, plasma of the heavy metal contained in the target is generated, and extreme ultraviolet light having a predetermined wavelength which corresponds to the kind of the heavy metal is emitted from the plasma. When the density of the target is made to be smaller than the crystal density as described above, space distribution of the density of the generated plasma can be controlled, and the region in which plasma absorbs energy of the laser beam overlaps the region in which the plasma emits the extreme ultraviolet light. Thus, emission efficiency can be improved, preventing energy loss. For example, in a case where the SnO2 target having a density 24% of the crystal density is used, the emission efficiency at around 13.5 nm wavelength is higher than in the case where a Sn crystal target is used.

Laser protective device with reflecting filter on non-absorbing and absorbing substrates

A laser reflecting has a low transmittance at one or more laser wavelengths while substantially transmitting all other wavelengths in the spectral range of interest, is coated on one or both sides of an absorbing or non-absorbing substrate. A laser reflecting filter on both sides of an absorbing substrate can result in an enhancement of the absorption of laser light by multiple reflections of the laser light in the absorbing substrate. The high transmittance of the laser-reflecting filter at non-laser wavelengths results in a relatively high overall transmittance through the coated substrate. In the specific case of laser reflecting coatings on a lens to protect an eye, this allows a high luminous transmittance and good colour discrimination.

Method for generating a plurality of optimized wavefronts for a multiple exposure lithographic process

A simplified version of a multiexpose mask optimization problem is solved in order to find a compressed space in which to search for the solution to the full problem formulation. The simplification is to reduce the full problem to an unconstrained formulation. The full problem of minimizing dark region intensity while maintaining intensity above threshold at each bright point can be converted to the unconstrained problem of minimizing average dark region intensity per unit of average intensity in the bright regions. The extrema solutions to the simplified problem can be obtained for each source. This set of extrema solutions is then assessed to determine which features are predominantly printed by which source. A minimal set of extrema solutions serves as a space of reduced dimensionality within which to maximize the primary objective under constraints. The space typically has reduced dimensionality through selection of highest quality extrema solutions.

Method for forming silicon film with changing grain size by thermal process

Roughly described, a silicon layer transitions from polysilicon at one surface to amorphous silicon at the opposite surface. The transition can be monotonic, and can be either continuous or it can change abruptly from polysilicon to amorphous silicon. If such a layer is formed as the floating gate of a floating gate transistor structure, the larger grain structure adjacent to the tunnel dielectric layer reduces the formation of a tip (protrusion) and thus reduces leakage. On the other hand, the smaller grain structure adjacent to the gate dielectric layer produces a smooth, more uniform gate dielectric layer. The polysilicon-to-amorphous silicon transistor can be fabricated with a temperature profile that favors polysilicon formation at the start of floating gate deposition, and transitions during deposition to a temperature that favors amorphous silicon deposition at the end of floating gate deposition.
