The invention discloses a device and a method of using a line-shaped pulse
laser to simulate ballistic impacts and carrying out real-time monitoring. The device includes a
laser output module, a material testing
simulation module and a monitoring module. The
laser output module is used for outputting a needed laser, and shaping the same into the line-shaped laser to use the same to excite a line-shaped acoustic source on a surface of sample material. The material
simulation testing module is used for using the laser to simulate
ballistic impact testing of the material. The monitoring module isused for carrying out real-time monitoring on a propagation process of an
impact wave generated after laser impacts on the sample material and a damage situation of the material. The device and the method improve anti-ballistic-
impact testing
simulation capability of armor material, and compared with traditional
ballistic impact testing based on bullets and the like, the device and the method have the advantages of fastness, economy, high experimental
repeatability, collection of micro transient
process information and the like, can enable the armor material to iterate design phases in an early period of designing and development, and reduce reliance on actual
ballistic impact testing.
