System and method for dynamic adaptive user-based prioritization and display of electronic messages

A method and system that dynamically ranks electronic messages based on their situational and inherent dimensions, which are judged by a set of filters. These filters evaluate the different elemental metadata constituting a message and produce a priority value based on filters relevance and importance. The system iterates through queued messages, examine the structured content for expected attributes, statistically analyze unstructured content, apply dynamically weighted rules and policies to deliver a priority ranking, and then display the message and its vital attributes in accordance with the priority ranking. The system also adaptive learns and adjusts its weighted rules and policies to permit priority ranking to change on real-time or interval-based (may be user-defined) schedule. The system includes a GUI for increasing reading and processing efficiency. The GUI performs supervised and unsupervised learning from the user's behaviors, and displays messages in accordance with their priority classification.

Compressor Valve Health Monitor

A rotating machine valve health monitor. Aspects of the valve monitor include instrumenting each valve of a reciprocating compressor, or other rotating machine, with a sensor capable of detecting at least vibration and instrumenting the crank shaft with a sensor capable of detecting at least rotation. A controller directly monitors the operation and condition of each valve to precisely identify any individual valve exhibiting leakage issues rather than only identifying the region of the leakage. The valve monitor uses a relatively high frequency stress wave analysis technique to provide a good signal-to-noise ratio to identify impact events indicative of leakage. The valve monitor uses circular waveforms of vibration data for individual valves to identify leakage by pattern recognition or visual identification. The valve monitor provides ongoing data collection to give warning of predicted valve failure and scheduling of preventative maintenance for failing valves.

Thermal imaging-based vehicle analysis

Analysis of a vehicle is performed using multi-dimensional infrared image data acquired for the vehicle. A component of the vehicle can be identified within the infrared image data, and the infrared image data for the component can be analyzed to determine whether any condition(s) are present on the vehicle. One or more actions can be initiated in response to a determination that a particular condition is present. Additionally, visible image data can be used to supplement the infrared image data. Still further, infrared image data for similar components imaged concurrently with the component can be used to identify whether any condition(s) are present on the vehicle. Unlike prior art approaches in the rail industry, the analysis can be performed on rail vehicles within a classification yard.

Efficient method and computer program for modeling and improving static memory performance across process variations and environmental conditions

An efficient method and computer program for modeling and improving stating memory performance across process variations and environmental conditions provides a mechanism for raising the performance of memory arrays beyond present levels / yields. Statistical (Monte-Carlo) analyses of subsets of circuit parameters are performed for each of several memory performance variables and then sensitivities of each performance variable to 15 each of the circuit parameters are determined. The memory cell design parameters and / or operating conditions of the memory cells are then adjusted in conformity with the sensitivities, resulting in improved memory yield and / or performance. Once a performance level is attained, the sensitivities can then be used to alter the probability distributions of the performance variables to achieve a higher yield. Multiple cell designs can be compared for performance, yield and sensitivity of performance variables to circuit parameters over particular environmental conditions in order to select the best cell design.

Packet communications unit

To analyze traffic at an application level, a stream according to TCP or SCTP is required to be reconstructed and to be analyzed. When a packet is transferred to analyzing equipment using a port mirroring function with which a router and a switch are provided, transferred traffic volume increases and exceeds the throughput of the analyzing equipment. As only a part of packets configuring a stream is transferred to the analyzing equipment in transfer to the analyzing equipment using a packet sampling function, analysis at the application level is impossible. To solve the problem, when a packet communication unit recognizes a stream start packet, samples a stream initiated by the packet on a condition and at a rate respectively determined beforehand and generates a condition for copying the packet based upon information of both ends of the stream included in the packet, packets sampled in units of stream can be transferred to the analyzing equipment.

Mass spectrometry with multipole ion guides

Multipole ion guides configured with one or mote segments and positioned in a higher pressure vacuum region, are operated in mass to charge selection and ion fragmentation modes. Individual multipole ion guides are mounted in a linear assembly with no electrodes configured in between each multipole ion guide. At least a portion of each multipole ion guide mounted in a linear assembly resides in a vacuum region with higher background pressure. At least one ion guide can be configured to extend continuously from one vacuum stage into another. Individual sets of RF, + / − DC and secular frequency voltage supplies provide potentials to the rods of each multipole ion guide allowing the operation of ion transmission, ion trapping, mass to charge selection and ion fragmentation functions independently in each ion guide. The presence of higher background pressure along a portion of the multiple ion guide linear assembly allows the Collisional Induced Dissociation (CID) fragmentation of ions by axially accelerating ions from one multipole ion guide to an adjacent ion guide, analogous to a triple quadrupole function. A variety of MS and MS / MSn analysis functions can be achieved with a mass analyzer configured with multiple ion guide linear assembly operated in a higher background pressure.

Communications control method and information relaying device for communications network system

A LAN switch is one component of a communications network system composed of a virtual LAN having network terminals such as personal computers connected with ports respectively. The LAN switch provides a host table for holding correspondence between each port and address information of the network terminal connected to each port and an authentication table for holding information for authenticating a user of each network terminal. If a request takes place of changing the correspondence about the source network terminal held in the host table when relaying the packets, the LAN switch prompts a user name and a password for the source network terminal, does user authentication on the basis of the information held in an authentication table, and enables rewrite of the host table and relay of the packets if the user is correct. These processes are executed for easily preventing false use of an address or tapping or false access by a malignant user as well as analyzing or recovering the erroneously set address.
