Well integrity monitoring system

Improved methods and apparatuses for directly monitoring well casing strain and structural integrity are disclosed that allows for monitoring of potentially damaging strain from any orientation or mode and over long stretches of well casing. In a preferred embodiment, optical fiber sensors are housed within a housing and attached to the exterior surface of the casing. The sensors may be aligned parallel, perpendicular, or at an appropriate angle to the axis of the casing to detect axial, hoop, and shear stresses respectively. The sensors are preferably interferometrically interrogatable and are capable of measuring both static and dynamic strains such as those emitted from microfractures in the well casing. Analysis of microfracture-induced acoustics includes techniques for assessment of relatively high frequencies indicative of the presence of microfractures. Assessment of the timing of the arrival of such acoustics at various sensors deployed along the casing further allows for the location of strain to be pinpointed.

A loudspeaker driver has a diaphragm connected to a surrounding frame by a roll suspension which extends around the diaphragm and within the frame. In transverse cross-section, the roll suspension is parabolic. The roll suspension varies continuously between each peak and adjacent trough. Preferably, outer surfaces of each peak and adjacent trough merge to a common point on the outer edge of the roll, while their inner surfaces merge to a common point on the outer edge of the roll, such that the peaks and troughs effectively disappear.

Therefore, the formation of the abnormal water channel inside a plastic product can be realized, the forming method of the water channel inside a conventional plastic product is changed, and the injection-molded product has better integrity, thus the pressure resistance and the service life of the product are ensured.

The method provides a wind aloft inversion method based on Doppler weather radar data. The method utilizes extrapolation products and radial velocity products of the Doppler weather radar, and air sounding data to carry out a multi-level wind aloft field fusion. The invention utilizes an extrapolation result of a radar echo image to convert an average radial velocity field of each elevation planeinto a velocity vector field with U and V components, thereby improving the readability of a subjective analysis of the wind aloft field. The invention utilizes the air sounding data to appropriatelycorrect a radar wind field, and the strength of the correction decreases with the increase of the distance between a radar grid point and a sounding station, so that the wind field has better integrity and continuity, and is more accord with the condition of an actual atmospheric wind field. Compared with some multi-data fusion methods, the algorithm of the method provided by the invention has moderate computational complexity and can improve the timeliness of the secondary radar wind field output.

The critically damped present acoustic stack utilizes a plurality of stacked acoustic elements such as piezoelectric ceramics that are energized in two manners, providing different center frequencies; each producing a respective center frequency of 100% bandwidth to yield an acoustic stack having a total bandwidth exceeding the bandwidth of an acoustic element or the bandwidth of the plurality of acoustic elements. One manner of energizing is to pulse only one of the acoustic elements. The other manner is to pulse a first acoustic element the pulse a second acoustic element after a delay equal to the amount of time it takes for the first pulse to reach the face of the second acoustic element. The acoustic elements are bonded together and onto a critically damped backing of tungsten. The assembly is retained in a housing that is preferably made of PEEK. The acoustic stack is primarily used in pulse-echo analysis of metal casing wall thickness and cement bond quality detection of wells.
