The objective of the present invention is to provide an air purifier and method thereof, capable of clearing away mephitis and air pollution substance generated by an odor source. The air purifying method includes an oxidation process, an acidic and alkaline cleaning process, and is capable of simultaneously clearing away basic group, acidic group and neutral group malodorous substance. In the oxidation process, a water solution containing oxidant is contacted with the malodorous gas to oxygenize and decompose the malodorous substance; in the acidic and alkaline cleaning process, a water solution containing acidic or alkaline cleaning agent is contacted with the malodorous gas, and the cleaning agent absorbs the malodorous substance to chemically neutralize.
