The invention provides a genetic marker related to goat cashmere fiber diameter, the genetic marker is located on a KRTAP2-1 gene and has three dominant alleles A, B and C, and the nucleotide sequences of the alleles A, B and C are respectively SEQ ID No. 1-SEQ ID No. 3 in a sequence table; the cashmere fiber diameter of the individual containing the allele C is minimum; and the cashmere fiber diameter of the individual without the allele C is the largest.
