Catalytic hydrogenation process utilizing multi-stage ebullated bed reactors

A process for catalytic multi-stage hydrogenation of heavy carbonaceous feedstocks using catalytic ebullated bed reactors is operated at selected flow and operating conditions so as to provide improved reactor operations and produce increased yield of lower boiling hydrocarbon liquid and gas products. The disclosed process advantageously takes advantage of an external gas / liquid separation unit associated with the first stage reactor to allow for a more efficient and effective catalytic hydrocracking process. The more efficient process is primarily a result of the increased catalyst loading and lower gas hold-up in the ebullated reactors.

Device and method to control volume of a ventricle

ActiveUS7530998B1Small sizePrevent further enlargement of a diseased heartHeart valvesHeart stimulatorsCardiac cycleReverse remodeling
A device used to treat heart disease by decreasing the size of a diseased heart, or to prevent further enlargement of a diseased heart. The device works by limiting the volume of blood entering the heart during each cardiac cycle. The device partitions blood within the heart, and protects the heart from excessive volume and pressure of blood. The device is placed within the interior of the heart, particularly within a ventricular cavity. The device is a hollow sac, with two openings, which simulates the shape and size of the interior lining of a ventricle of a normal heart. It allows the ventricle to fill through one opening juxtaposed to the annulus of the inflow valve to a predetermined, normal volume, and limits filling of the heart beyond that volume. It then allows blood to be easily ejected through the second opening through the outflow valve. By limiting the amount of blood entering the ventricle, the ventricle is not subjected to the harmful effect of excessive volume and pressure of blood during diastole, the period of the cardiac cycle when the heart is at rest. This allows the heart to decrease in size, or to reverse remodel, and to recover lost function. In some applications, a second device may be simultaneously placed inside the heart to take up excessive space between the heart and the primary device.

Package for sealing an integrated circuit die

A die has a part that is sealed with a cap. The seal can be hermetic or non-hermetic. If hermetic, a layer of glass or metal is formed in the surface of the die, and the cap has a layer of glass or metal at a peripheral area so that, when heated, the layers form a hermetic seal. A non-hermetic seal can be formed by bonding a cap with a patterned adhesive. The cap, which can be silicon or can be a metal paddle, is electrically coupled to a fixed voltage to shield the part of the die.

Asynchronous interconnect protocol for a clustered dbms

A method, system and computer program product for an asynchronous interconnection between nodes of a clustered database management system (DBMS). Node timestamps are provided when each of the nodes in the cluster are started. Two or more communication conduits are established between the nodes. Each communication conduit between a local node and a remote node has an associated session identifier. The session identifiers and the timestamp from the remote node are associated to each communication conduit and the associated local node in the cluster. A timestamp is received from the remote node at the local node when establishing communication to determine if the remote node corresponds to the remote node incarnation identified by the timestamp and if DBMS communication between nodes can be initiated.

300MM single stackable film frame carrier

An interlockable film frame carrier has central and peripheral portions for securely storing a film frame, the film frame supporting a film, a semiconductor wafer disposed on the film. The central portion has structure for supporting the semiconductor wafer and for allowing access to a lower surface of the stored film frame. The peripheral portion of the film frame carrier includes structure for supporting a peripheral portion of the film frame and matable stacking members. When the film frame is stored, two film frame carriers are interlocked by mating the stacking members. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR §1.72 (b).

Pick release performance using a multi-threaded architecture to distribute the workload across multiple processors

In various embodiments, methods and systems can provide highly efficient order processing suitable for high volume order processing businesses. A batch of orders can be preprocessed to create smaller data sets that group orders for the same item together. The smaller data sets can then be analyzed and processed in parallel without causing database locks. Thus, the time required to complete the order fulfillment cycle may be reduced, which may in turn, increase one or more of operation efficiency, customer satisfaction, sales volume and profits.

Portable negative-pressure device

ActiveUS20170326277A1Improve inconvenienceMore collection volumeMedical devicesIntravenous devicesPistonBiomedical engineering
A portable negative-pressure device including a housing, a piston, a barrier layer and a spring means for forming a first collection chamber and a second collection chamber having a variable volume to form a pressure-reducing region is provided. In the situation of that the exudates have been stored in the first collection chamber, the portable negative-pressure device can still maintain a sufficient negative pressure by continuously compressing the piston, and the second collection chamber will provide an additional liquid storage space.
