A method is provided of compensating for periodic non-uniformity in an electrophotographic (EP) printer with a rotatable imaging component, and a runout sensor for measuring the distance between a first reference point and the surface of the first component along a first reference axis. An image signal representing an image to be produced on a receiving member by the printer is received. The component is rotated. While it is rotating, the distance for the component is measured using the runout sensor. A correction value corresponding to the measured distance is automatically determined using a processor. The image data corresponding to the measured distance are automatically adjusted with the correction value using the processor. Toner corresponding to the adjusted image data is deposited on the receiver using the component.

Embodiments of the present invention include a frequency synthesizer comprising a first plurality of dividers receiving a first signal having a first frequency and generating a first plurality of divided signals and a frequency combination network including a plurality of mixers, the frequency combination network receiving one or more of the first plurality of divided signals and generating a plurality of synthesized signals having different frequencies. The frequency combination network may further include additional dividers and multiplexers for more flexibility in synthesizing different frequencies. In one embodiment, the frequency combination network is coupled to dividers in the feedback path of a phase locked loop. The present invention is particularly advantageous for synthesizing frequencies above one (1) gigahertz.

Multiple independent signals can be concurrently amplified by a proposed multi-channel PA module with a fixed total power output, while individual signal channel outputs feature different power intensities with no signal couplings among the individual signals. In addition to basic configurations, some modules can be configured to feature both functions of parallel power amplifiers and also as M-to-M switches. Other programmable features include configurations of power combining and power redistribution functions with a prescribed amplitude and phase distributions, as well as high power PA with a linearizer.

Method for allocating blocks of internet protocol (IP) addresses in networks

Methods for allocating blocks of addresses to nodes in an IP communications network determine an optimal set of serving subnets, referred to as resources, for a single node in an IP communications network with given input demands for blocks of addresses. An optimal set of resources is determined at the node to a relaxed problem that aggregates all the demands to a single large demand and deletes the constraints that each demand must be assigned to a single resource. Each of the original demands is assigned to a single resource from among those determined by the solution to the relaxed problem. The optimal solution balances the amount of excess addresses that are not used at the resources with the fragmentation of addresses at the node to too many resources with a discontinuous range of addresses. New resources can be allocated to nodes that already have existing resources. Specifically, it is possible to evaluate the desirability of returning existing resources to a pool of addresses in order to gain more flexibility in allocating new resources to the node. The methods can also be used to allocate subnets at all nodes in a tree network by solving repeatedly single-node problems, starting at the lowest level of the tree. The resulting serving subnets at nodes of one level are demands to nodes at the next higher level.
