Detector Controlled Illuminating System

An illuminating device coupled with sensors or an image acquisition device and a logical controller allows illumination intensity and spectrum to be varied according to changing user needs. The system provides illumination to areas according to the principles of correct lighting practice for the optimal performance of visual tasks in the most efficient, cost effective manner. Aspects of the invention include: lighting fixtures which adapt to ambient lighting, movement, visual tasks being performed, and environmental and personal conditions affecting illumination requirements at any given instant. Lighting fixtures having spatial distribution of spectrum and intensity, providing both “background” room lighting, and “task” lighting.

Lighting device and method of making

A lighting device comprising at least one non-white light source, at least a first supplemental light emitter and at least a second supplemental light emitter. The non-white light source(s) is outside an area from 0.01 u′v′ above to below the blackbody locus, and within an area defined by curves between saturated light of wavelength 430-480 nm and 560-580 nm and line segments between saturated light of wavelength 430-580 nm and 480-560 nm. The first supplemental light emitter(s) have dominant emission wavelength of 465-540 nm. The second supplemental light emitter(s) have dominant emission wavelength of 600-640 nm.

Light emitting diode bulb having high heat dissipating efficiency

InactiveUS6864513B2Easily and quickly dissipate heatOperation be often erratic and unstableLighting applicationsLight source combinationsElectricityEngineering
A light emitting diode (LED) bulb includes a heat sink, a circuit layer having two opposite sides, multiple LEDs mounted on one side and an electrical insulating layer connected between the opposite side and the heat sink. Heat generated by the LEDs is conducted to the heat sink through the circuit layer and the electrical insulting layer and is dissipated quickly. Further, a fan can be mounted on the fins to dissipate heat from the heat sink more quickly. Therefore, the LED bulb has good heat dissipating efficiency.

Distributed illumination system

The present invention introduces a new class of lightweight tile-based illumination systems for uses wherein thin directionally-illuminating light distributing engines are embedded into the body of otherwise standard building materials like conventional ceiling tiles along with associated means of electrical control and electrical power interconnection. As a new class of composite light emitting ceiling materials, the present invention enables a lighter weight more flexibly distributed overhead lighting system alternatives for commercial office buildings and residential housing without changing the existing materials. One or more spot lighting, task lighting, flood lighting and wall washing elements having cross-sectional thickness matched to that of the building material or tile into which they are embedded, are contained and interconnected within the material body's cross-section. Embedded power control devices interconnected to each lighting element in the distributed system communicate with a central switching center that thereby controls each light-emitting element in the system.

Semiconductor light emitting device, light emitting module and lighting apparatus

An LED array chip (2) includes blue LEDs (6) and red LEDs (8). The blue LEDs (6) are formed by epitaxial growth on an SiC substrate (4). Bonding pads (46 and 48) are formed on the SiC substrate (4) in a wafer fabrication process. The red LEDs (8) are separately manufactured from the blue LEDs (6), and flip-chip mounted on the bonding pads (46 and 48) formed on the SiC substrate.

Color changing outdoor lights with active ingredient and sound emission

An outdoor light system comprising a plurality light elements linked to a central controller. Each light element include a translucent shell, plurality of LEDs positioned so as to emit a light show through the shell A compartment for receiving and securing a replaceable volatile active cartridge and a heater for enabling the device to effectively emit an active ingredient from the cartridge when the cartridge is secured in the compartment. A white light source may be provided in each device as a source of illumination along with the LEDs The devices can be used as white light sources, for displaying a coordinated colored light shows, for displaying colored light schemes and for volatile active emission. The devices of disclosed the system may include an acoustic transducer for producing light and sound shows. The device may also include a light sensor, a motion detector and / or a microphone or acoustic receiver thereby enabling the light and sound shows to be dependent upon ambient light intensity, motion detection and / or ambient noise. The devices and systems are suitable for outdoor home lighting, porch and deck lighting and path / driveway lighting.
