A biological observation apparatus comprises a color image signal creating section that performs signal processing on either a first image pickup signal for which a subject to be examined illuminated by white illumination light is picked up by a color filter having a transmitting characteristic of a plurality of broadband wavelengths or a second image pickup signal for which a subject to be examined is picked up under illumination of frame sequential illumination lights which cover a visible range, and creates a color image signal. The biological observation apparatus comprises a spectral image signal creating section that creates a spectral image signal corresponding to a narrowband image signal through signal processing on a color image signal based on the first or second image pickup signal. The biological observation apparatus comprises one of a characteristic changing / setting section for a display color converting section that performs conversion of display colors when causing the spectral image signal to be displayed or the like, an interface section for performing an instruction operation for switching and / or confirming information including an image to be displayed, or the like.

This disclosure describes a wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network system (100) comprising an optical line terminal (180) for controlling transmission of data that are carried by optical signals across the optical network system along an upstream or downstream path; a signal modulating loop circuit including a circulator (110) connected to the optical line terminal (180) for determining the transmission paths of the optical signals; a splitter (120) connected to the circulator (110) for splitting the optical signals into a first portion of optical signals and a second portion of optical signals according to a predetermined ratio; an amplifier (160) connected to the splitter (120) for amplifying the second portion of optical signals; and a modulator (170) connected in between the amplifier (160) and the splitter (120) for modulating the amplified second portion of optical signals to be transmitted to the circulator (110); a converter (140) connected to the splitter (130) for converting the first portion of optical signals into electrical signals; and one or more optical network units (150) connected in between the converter (140) and modulator (170) for receiving the electrical signals from the converter (140), and transmitting electrical signals to the modulator (170) for converting the electrical signals into optical signals to be transmitted together with the amplified second portion of optical signals to the optical line terminal (180); wherein the circulator (110) directs the optical signals received from the modulator (170) to the splitter (120) for being transmitted back into the signal modulating loop circuit and/or towards the optical network units along the downstream path, or towards the optical line terminal along the upstream path.

Configuration Control

A method of configuration controlling a hierarchy of data arrays is disclosed, each data array in the hierarchy having at least one version, each version of each data array in the hierarchy being associated with one version of at least one other data array in the hierarchy, each data array comprising at least one data entry, each data entry comprising a plurality of fields, the plurality of fields comprising a version field and at least one characteristic field having a characteristic, the version field indicating which version of that data array the associated characteristic fields belong to. The method comprises the steps of: (i) defining a package of data arrays comprising a predetermined version of at least two data arrays in the hierarchy and in which at least one of the data arrays is to be updated to a new version based on a previous version; and (ii) appending a new version indicator indicative of the new version to each data entry having the previous version in the at least one of the data arrays. By associating data entries with more than one version, the need to copy all the data entries within a data array to be updated is obviated. This in turn reduces the amount of additional data which needs to be created and can simplify the relationships between characteristics in different levels of the hierarchy.

Display apparatus, 3D film and control method thereof

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes a display panel; a backlight configured to irradiate visible ray to the display panel in a 2D mode, and configured to irradiate ultraviolet ray to the display panel in a 3D mode; and a 3D film disposed between the display panel and backlight, wherein the 3D film comprises: a pattern formed by a plurality of lines distanced from one another by a predetermined distance; and a coating layer that is formed on one side of the plurality of lines pattern and transmits or reflects light patterned by the plurality of lines pattern, per line. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent deterioration of resolution of a screen image, provide a simple structure and enable a change to and from a 2D mode and a 3D mode.
