Method and system for minimizing the connection set up time in high speed packet switching networks

The present invention is directed to a high speed packet switching network and, in particular to a method and system for minimizing the time to establish a connection between an origin and a destination node. Due to high dynamicity of the traffic on transmission links, it is important to select a routing path according to a fully up-to-date information on all network resources. The simpler approach is to calculate a new path for each new connection request. This solution may be very time consuming because there are as many path selection operations as connection set up operations. On another hand, the calculation of paths based on an exhaustive exploration of the network topology, is a complex operation which may also take an inordinate amount of resources in large networks. Many of connections originated from a network node flow to the same destination network node. It is therefore possible to take a serious benefit in reusing the same already calculated paths for several connections towards the same node. The path calculated at the time the connection is requested is recorded in a Routing Database and updated each time a modification occurs in the network. Furthermore, alternate paths for supporting non-disruptive path switch on failure or preemption, and new paths towards potential destination nodes can be calculated and stored when the connection set up process is idle. These last operations are executed in background with a low processing priority and in absence of connection request.

Decellularized extracellular matrix of conditioned body tissues and uses thereof

The present invention relates generally to decellularized extracellular matrix of conditioned body tissues. The decellularized extracellular matrix contains a biological material, preferably vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), produced by the conditioned body tissue that is in an amount different than the amount of the biological material that the body tissue would produce absent the conditioning. The invention also relates to methods of making and methods of using said decellularized extracellular matrix. Specifically, the invention relates to treating defective, diseased, damaged or ischemic cells, tissues or organs in a subject by administering, injecting or implanting the decellularized extracellular matrix of the invention into a subject in need thereof. The invention is further directed to a tissue regeneration scaffold for implantation into a subject inflicted with a disease or condition that requires tissue or organ repair, regeneration and/or strengthening. Additionally, the invention is directed to a medical device, preferably a stent or an artificial heart, having a surface coated or covered with the decellularized extracellular matrix of the invention or having a component comprising the decellularized extracellular matrix of the invention for implantation into a subject, preferably a human. Methods for making the tissue regeneration scaffold and methods for manufacturing a coated or covered medical device having a component comprising decellularized extracellular matrix of conditioned body tissues are also provided.

Script compliance using speech recognition

Apparatus and methods are provided for using automatic speech recognition to analyze a voice interaction and verify compliance of an agent reading a script to a client during the voice interaction. In one aspect of the invention, a communications system includes a user interface, a communications network, and a call center having an automatic speech recognition component. In a second aspect of the invention, a script compliance method includes the steps of conducting a voice interaction between an agent and a client and evaluating the voice interaction with an automatic speech recognition component adapted to analyze the voice interaction and determine whether the agent has adequately followed the script.

Systems and methods for managing multiple keys for file encryption and decryption

Systems and methods for managing multiple keys for file encryption and decryption may provide an encrypted list of previously used keys. The list itself may be encrypted using a current key. To decrypt files that are encrypted in one or more of the previous keys, the list can be decrypted, and the appropriate previous key can be retrieved. To re-key files, an automated process can decrypt any files using previous keys and encrypt them using the current key. If a new current key is introduced, the prior current key can be used to decrypt the list of keys, the prior current key can be added to the list, and the list can be re-encrypted using the new current key.

Method of operation of an intelligent transpartent gateway during an FTP session

A transparent gateway having increased throughput during a file transfer protocol (ftp) session is provided. This increase is enabled through generalized network address translator (gNAT) at the kernel level that is under user-mode proxy control through an application programming interface (API). Initially, the proxy commands the API to generate a dynamic port-redirect in the gNAT for all connection requests for a port twenty-one to itself at the local port to which it is bound. The proxy may then establish a session on the client's behalf with the ftp server, establish a session on the client's behalf with a different ftp server, etc. The proxy then requests that the API command an address translation in the gNAT to open an ftp data session so that data from the ftp server need not pass up to the user-mode, but may be dynamically redirected within the kernel-mode.
