Method of Authentication by Token

A method is provided for authentication by token for accessing a service from a terminal. The method includes, on receipt of a service access authorization request including at least one unique identifier of the terminal, steps of determining a network access context of the terminal; checking validity of the service access rights, including at least checking an access right associated with the network access context of the terminal; and, if the access rights are valid, generating a valid authentication token on the basis of the unique identifier of the terminal and the network access context, and transmitting the token to the terminal.

Method and apparatus for restricting frequency in wireless communication system

A method and apparatus for restricting a frequency in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives restriction information and a timer value from a network, starts a timer based on the timer value, and restricts usage of a frequency based on the restriction information.

System and method for reducing broadcast traffic wireless access-point networks

A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for reducing broadcast traffic in a wireless backbone network. In operation, a wireless access point receives an address resolution protocol (ARP) message from a network device. The wireless access point determines the destination of the ARP message and attempts to identify the Ethernet address associated with the destination network device. If the Ethernet address cannot be determined, the access point sends an ARP request message to the other wireless access points on the network, requesting them to transmit ARP packets to the network device. When the desired network device comes within range of the network, the access points discontinue transmitting ARP packets and a message acknowledging the device's presence is transmitted to the original access point. This method of having access points periodically broadcast ARP packets to network devices reduces ARP broadcasting across the wireless backbone, thereby increasing network throughput.

Nanosplasmonic imaging technique for the spatio-temporal mapping of single cell secretions in real time

A label-free method for the spatio-temporal mapping of protein secretions from individual cells in real time by using a chip for localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) imaging. The chip is a glass coverslip compatible for use in a standard microscope having at least one array of functionalized plasmonic nanostructures patterned onto it. After placing a cell on the chip, the secretions from the cell are spatially and temporally mapped using LSPR imaging. Transmitted light imaging and / or fluorescence imaging may be done simultaneously with the LSPR imaging.

Electromagnetic wave applicator

An electromagnetic wave irradiation tool encompasses a narrow tube (endoscope probe) (7) defined by an outside diameter of 0.1 mm-20 mm, having an electromagnetic wave irradiation terminal (3) configured to irradiate an electromagnetic wave (2) having a frequency equal to a characteristic frequency of a microorganism (11) at the top of the narrow tube (7) and an electromagnetic wave generation unit (3) configured to generate the electromagnetic wave (2) and to supply the electromagnetic wave (2) to the electromagnetic wave irradiation terminal (3). The electromagnetic wave irradiation tool drives the microorganism (11) into a resonant vibration state selectively so that the microorganism (11) can be destroyed, without giving damages to biological body (1) for medically treating the disease induced by the microorganism (11).

VSWR improvement for bicone antennas

A broadband bicone antenna system supports improved VSWR operation of a high-impedance bicone antenna having a reduced aperture size, high input impedance at the central vertex of the cones, one or more pattern tuning filters associated with the cones, and input filtering for frequency selective impedance matching. Pattern tuning filters can improve the radiation pattern at different frequencies by controlling the electrical length of the antenna in response to the frequency components of the associated wideband signal. Impedance matching input filters can improve the signal matching to couple radio frequency energy into the antenna system from a feed line. Mutual tuning of the pattern tuning filters; the impedance matching input filters; and the impedance of the bicone antenna itself can improve the overall voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) performance of the bicone antenna system over a broad range of operating frequencies.

Optical disc, recording apparatus and method, and reproduction apparatus and method

An optical disc having a plurality of sectors, each of which includes a plurality of frames. Sub information bit value “0'or “1” is assigned to the plurality of frames constituting a sector, excluding the first and last frames. Edge positions are displaced so that leading / lagging errors appear in accordance with a certain rule when data fields of the frames to which sub information bit value “1” is assigned are read. Edge positions are displaced so that leading / lagging errors appear in accordance with a reversed rule of the certain rule when data fields of the frames to which sub information bit value “0” is assigned are read.

Data update system, data update device and external storage medium

When update data stored in portable storage media are distributed to update data, the data updatable frequency can be freely restricted at the distribution source of the update data. A data updatable upper limit frequency and an update frequency at which data update is carried out are stored in an update-frequency data storing portion 112 of an external storage medium 103. On the basis of these update-frequency data, it is judged by an update permission judging portion 110 whether there is data update permission in a terminal 102. If there is update permission, the update data is delivered to an update data reading portion 109 in the terminal 102, and the data update is carried out on the basis of the update data by a post-update data restoring portion 107 of the terminal 102, and the post-update data is stored in an in-terminal data storing portion 104. When the data update is carried out, update-frequency data is updated by an update frequency updating portion 111.
