636 results about "Acoustic transmission" patented technology

Acoustic transmission is the transmission of sounds through and between materials, including air, wall, and musical instruments. The degree to which sound is transferred between two materials depends on how well their acoustical impedances match.

Test Device And Test Method For Active Noise Reduction Headphone

The present invention discloses a test device and test method for the noise reduction headphone. The test device comprises: an enclosed cavity, a noise source, a test panel, a measuring microphone and a measure comparison module connected with the measuring microphone. The sound emitted from the noise source is sealed within the enclosed cavity. The test panel can cooperate with the noise reduction headphone to form a coupling cavity in the test. The test panel has a sound guiding hole in the common part with the enclosed cavity for transmitting the sound of the noise source into the interior of the coupling cavity. The test panel also has a mounting hole, and the measuring microphone is mounted on the mourning hole towards the direction of the coupling cavity. The measuring microphone records noise signals before and after the noise reduction function of the noise reduction headphone is activated. The measure comparison module receives the signals recorded these two times by the measuring microphone and performs comparison processing to obtain noise reduction amount of the noise reduction headphone. The technical solution of the present invention solves the problem of noise pollution caused by high-power external noise sources to the surrounding environment during the test process of noise reduction amount of the headphone, meanwhile, no special shielding room is required, and the requirement on test environment is relieved.

Thermal pulsed ultrasonic flow sensor

In thermal pulse flow measurements a relatively small bolus of flowing fluid is heated or cooled and the time required for the bolus to move downstream a known distance is measured. In many fluids, changing the temperature changes the acoustic transmission properties of the bolus from those of the rest of the fluid, so the bolus can be detected when it intersects an acoustic beam. The use of an acoustic beam or beams, which are usually defined between acoustic transmitting receiving transducers, typically provides a high frequency carrier which is modulated by the change in acoustic properties of the bolus when it passes between the two transducers. When compared to conventional thermal measurements, this acoustic approach provides faster response times and can thus be used for measuring higher flow rates.

Headphones for 3d sound

Headsets (20, 50, 60, 71) provide surround sound and full 3 dimensional effects to a user to simulate the effects of direction and sound source. Advantages include: surround sound effect without the limitations of Head-Related Transfer Functions, and pinna effect customized to each user's ears; horn shape tube outlets (32) to create an efficient transmission of sound; ability to space the headset speakers (22, 24) away from the user's ear and to maintain sound quality by addition of a chamber (28) behind the speakers (22, 24), with the aid of tube sound guides (23, 25) and the horn shaped outlets; and, no need for electronic hardware to process the electrical signals to create desired effects as placement of the speakers creates the correct timing, and damping material (34) in the tubes between speakers creates a desired intensity drop. Head tracking capability is also provided.

Hearing assistance systems configured to detect and provide protection to the user from harmful conditions

The present universal wearable computing device relates to a hearing assistance system, device, method, and apparatus that provide a discreet approach to user hearing assistance, without relying on a conventional hearing aid. The hearing assistance system and the requisite electronics may be incorporated into frames that also function as eyeglasses with earphone(s) that may be connected to the frame to assist user hearing. An earphone may be configured with minimal electronics, such that a power source enable sound transmissions to the ear, is provided by a connection to the frame of the eyeglasses. In another example, the earphone is configured without any electronics and sound is transmitted to the user/listener's ear(s) via a psychoacoustic system. The sound quality of the transmissions to the earphones may be optimized using a tuning/equalizer application operating from a computing device, such as an app on a mobile device. The tuning/equalizer application can be used by the user/listener to optimize volume input levels to the earphone(s). The hearing assistance system may also protect from damaging environmental noise, provide heightened hearing capabilities, collect and process physiological and physical measurements, and provide communication capabilities for interacting with other computing devices.

Sound transmission system

The present invention relates to a sound transmission system using a human body as a propagation medium. The transmission system includes a first signal transmitter and a second signal transmitter respectively generating signals having frequencies corresponding to each other, the first and second signal transmitters being coupled to the human body, wherein the first and second signal transmitters respectively generate high frequency signals having an opposite phase to each other, and the respective signal transmitters combine the audio signals and the high frequency signals to transmit the combined signals to the human body. The respective signal transmitters combine the generated audio signals and high frequency signals, adjust an output phase of the combined signals, and transmit the combined signals through the human body.
