The invention relates to a method for preparing environment-friendly waterproof plant asphalt by using plant raw materials, which comprises the following steps: adding phthalic anhydride into a fractionated substrate, wherein the weight of the phthalic anhydride is 10-15% of the weight of the fractionated substrate; stirring at 190-210 DEG C under an airtight condition and performing esterification cyclization reaction for 3-4 hours; and when vapor pressure of water generated from the reaction no longer increases, stopping reaction and relieving the pressure, thereby obtaining the environment-friendly waterproof plant asphalt. According to the method provided by the invention, the operation is simple, the cost of raw materials is low, the demand on equipment is lower, the environment is protected and the method is suitable for large-scale production. According to the method provided by the invention, the problem that a large quantity of fractionated substrates are accumulated in the large-scale industrial production of binary chemical alcohol is solved; the product prepared according to the method contains no carcinogenic substance and can contain partial petroleum asphalt, thereby being environment-friendly and safe and obtaining higher economic benefit; and the application prospect is wide.
