System and method of cost oriented software profiling

A cost oriented profiler (COP) mechanism that analyzes the behavior of input application source code with regard to the software total cost of ownership (TCO). The cost analysis tool provided by the mechanism analyzes the behavior of the source code and generates a cost report with indications as to the portions of the source code that have the most impact on the TCO of the application. Based on simulations and by comparing multiple versions of the source code, the COP mechanism determines if a particular change to the source code will increase or decrease software TCO. Behavior analysis, including static and dynamic analysis of the source code, is used to generate one or more code recommendations to reduce the TCO.

Apparatus and method for allocating resources based on service level agreement predictions and associated costs

A method, apparatus, and computer instructions for allocating resources based on predictions of service level agreement (SLA) breaches in order to minimize costs are provided. With the method, apparatus, and computer instructions, a prediction that an SLA will be breached is received from a prediction engine associated with the SLM system. Based on a prediction that an SLA will be breached, a minimum cost analysis is performed to determine if computer resources may be shifted from another service consumer under another SLA to facilitate the service consumer of the potentially breached SLA in order to reduce the cost of the penalty associated with breaching SLAs. If so, resources are reallocated in order to minimize penalties associated with SLA breaches.

Method and apparatus for maximizing data transmission capacity of a mesh network

A mesh network routing protocol for optimizing network data transmission capacity using a cost analysis based upon a links proximity to the gateway or other bandwidth constrained node. Specifically, the protocol computes a plurality of routing costs associated with each data path, compares the routing costs, and then selects the data path associated with the lowest routing cost for the transmission of data. Each link in each of the paths is weighted in view of its proximity to an ingress / egress point to the mesh network or other bandwidth constrained node or link of the network.

Model inventory manager

A method and apparatus for managing a building model inventory, including a database structured for storing element specification and instance data from both a previous version and a latter revision of building information modeling datasets, respectively. In addition to the building information modeling element data, the database associates completed assembly pass, unit cost, work breakdown structure, and other inventory management data with the element type definitions and element instance data. Application software compares the first and second inventory revisions to identify all changes, additions and / or deletions of building elements between the previous version and the latter revision of the building information modeling datasets. By tracking the elements that change, the changes that affect the construction schedule and quantity, configuration and specification of materials are identified. An engineering cost analysis based on the changed data provides a rapid understanding of the implications of any design change.

Network cost analysis

Embodiments generally disclosed herein include methods and systems for calculating incremental network costs between logical city pairs in a network (each city pair being in communication across the network via one or more physical links). For example, the method includes a cost analyzer that, for each physical link in the network, determines a steady state capacity allocation associated with each city pair in the network and, in the same vein, determines a restoration capacity allocation associated with each city pair in the network. The cost analyzer is capable of calculating an incremental cost per unit of traffic for a given city pair based on: i) the steady state capacity allocation and a restoration capacity allocation associated with a given city pair, as compared to, ii) the aggregate steady state capacity allocations and restoration capacity allocations associated with each city pair in the network.

Automated Repricing of Revised Itineraries for Ticket Changes Requested After Issuance

A system, method, and computer readable medium for returning the different costs for multiple potential travel alternatives using a single travel change request. The itinerary information is analyzed to determine fare rules and requirements to follow in repricing a new ticket. The process builds alternative flight criteria based on the requested travel change. The alternative flight criteria are then matched with fare data that is associated with the markets for the new itinerary. When the available flight information has been accessed along with the best available fares, this information is used to query available seat inventory on the target flights. Using the information from the targeted flights, alternative itinerary solutions are driven through the repricing process to determine the cost of each proposed itinerary for the requested change. With multiple answers to the request, full alternative costs can be proposed to a customer to make a change decision that best meets the customer's needs.
