An adjustable knitting and weaving hand loom includes differently shaped elongate sections. Tabs and channels connect the sections to form a closed frame by connecting adjoining sections in end-to-end abutment. The tabs and mating channels form sliding joints between adjoining sections. Each of the sections is provided with a series of substantially uniformly spaced holes or bores. End-most holes through the tabs and the channels are aligned when the axial tabs are fully slidably mated within associated axial channels. Pegs are dimensioned to be received both within aligned end-most holes at each slip joint and intermediate holes. The pegs are inserted into aligned end-most bores or holes function both to secure yarn during knitting and to lock the axial tabs from inadvertently separating from mating axial channels by movements along the direction of insertion.

File system access for one or more sandboxed applications

Methods, systems, and machine-readable storage medium are described wherein, in one embodiment, identifiers, such as bookmarks, are used to allow access to files or folders in a sandboxed environment. One or more applications are restricted by an access control system, which can be, for example, a trusted software component of an operating system. In one embodiment, the bookmarks or other identifiers allow an application to have access to a file even if the file is renamed or moved by a user while the application has been terminated. In one embodiment, a resource manager, or other trusted access control system, can interact with an application to allow for the use of bookmarks in an environment in which a sandbox application controls access to the files such that each application must make a request to the sandbox application in order to obtain access to a particular file or folder.

Image processing apparatus and personal information management program

An image processing apparatus and a personal information management program are provided in which each user is permitted to perform the processing of user's own personal information while preventing leakage of user's personal information without disturbing the use of the apparatus by an infinite number of users to any substantial extent. The apparatus includes a user authentication section that acquires ID information to identify each user from among a plurality of users, and performs user authentication based on the ID information; an operation mode setting section that can selectively set, as an operation mode that sets a work environment for operation inputs, between an personal operation mode to permit each user to operate individually and a public operation mode to permit an indefinite number of users to operate; and a mode switching section that, when a user is authenticated in the user authentication section, switches the operation mode from the public operation mode into the personal operation mode for the authenticated user.

Portable terminal

A portable terminal of this invention has a portable phone control section which performs processing for a portable phone via a radio wave in a certain frequency band. This portable terminal also has a transmission section and a reception section which have respective functions as an on-board machine in an electronic toll collection system and transacts ETC information on automatic toll collection to and from a radio equipment installed at a tollgate via a radio wave in a different frequency band. A common control unit also provided in the portable terminal controls switching between the functions as the terminal and the machine according to the frequency band of the received radio wave. Thus, the electronic toll collection system can be used by the user at a low cost, and also established as the infrastructure.
