A control unit of a station concentrically rotates a plurality of unit replacing units by a motor on a first horizontal plane parallel to a floor bearing the station when arrival of the self-propelled cleaner is detected. The control unit activates, as a unit for removing an old battery unit from the self-propelled cleaner, the unit replacing unit included among the plurality of unit replacing units and opposed to the self-propelled cleaner located on the station. After the old battery unit is removed from the self-propelled cleaner, the control unit activates the motor. By the rotation of this motor, another unit replacing unit opposed to the self-propelled cleaner is activated as a unit for attaching a new battery unit to the self-propelled cleaner instead of the unit replacing unit previously activated as the removing unit.

Method and system for autonomously allocating a frequency hopping traffic channel in a private radio system

An allocation method and system for allocating a least-interfered communications link between a cellular mobile station and a private radio base station within a cellular system is disclosed. A set of candidate carrier frequencies are first selected and ordered by the amount of interference present within the cellular system, and a subset thereof selected. A second set of candidate frequencies and associated timeslots are then selected from the subset and ordered by the amount of interference present in the private radio system environment, and a second subset thereof selected. A plurality of discrete hop lists for each timeslot are then formed, and one of the hop lists exhibiting the least amount of interference is then selected to be applied in the communications link.

Image data transmitting apparatus and method of controlling same

The amount of data in an image file transmitted to a cellular telephone is reduced. To achieve this, the colors of pixels constituting an image represented by image data are specified by a color palette table. Color palettes representing colors that do not appear in the image are deleted from the color palette table. Since the amount of data in the color palette table contained in the image file is reduced, so is the amount of image data in the image file.

Method of exchanging coins involving non-cash exchange options

A method of exchanging coins that maximizes benefits to a host / operator of an implementing machine (10) and minimizes or eliminates any transaction charges to users of the machine (10) by providing users an establishment-specific or otherwise dedicated cash-substitute or other non-cash option in return for the coins. Possible exchange options include dispensing a disposable first type of cash-substitute device (40a,40b); storing a credit on a re-usable second type of cash-substitute device (44); making a charitable donation; and crediting an account. Because the establishment own or rents and operates the machine (10), exchanged coins can be used to replenish cash drawers or to replenish its coin dispensers or dispensing machines used, for example, at or by checkstands or self-checkout stands or self-service checkout systems, and because the exchange options are primarily establishment-specific, sales increase.

An adjustable knitting and weaving hand loom includes differently shaped elongate sections. Tabs and channels connect the sections to form a closed frame by connecting adjoining sections in end-to-end abutment. The tabs and mating channels form sliding joints between adjoining sections. Each of the sections is provided with a series of substantially uniformly spaced holes or bores. End-most holes through the tabs and the channels are aligned when the axial tabs are fully slidably mated within associated axial channels. Pegs are dimensioned to be received both within aligned end-most holes at each slip joint and intermediate holes. The pegs are inserted into aligned end-most bores or holes function both to secure yarn during knitting and to lock the axial tabs from inadvertently separating from mating axial channels by movements along the direction of insertion.

Self-boosting method with suppression of high lateral electric fields

In an improved EASB programming scheme for a flash device (e.g. a NAND flash device), the number of word lines separating a selected word line (to which a program voltage is applied) and an isolation word line (to which an isolation voltage is applied) is adjusted as a function (e.g. inverse function) of distance of the selected word line from the drain side select gate to reduce program disturb due to high vertical and lateral electric fields at or near the isolation transistor when programming word lines closer to the drain side select gate. The selected and isolation word lines are preferably separated by two or more word lines to which intermediate voltage(s) are applied.

File system access for one or more sandboxed applications

Methods, systems, and machine-readable storage medium are described wherein, in one embodiment, identifiers, such as bookmarks, are used to allow access to files or folders in a sandboxed environment. One or more applications are restricted by an access control system, which can be, for example, a trusted software component of an operating system. In one embodiment, the bookmarks or other identifiers allow an application to have access to a file even if the file is renamed or moved by a user while the application has been terminated. In one embodiment, a resource manager, or other trusted access control system, can interact with an application to allow for the use of bookmarks in an environment in which a sandbox application controls access to the files such that each application must make a request to the sandbox application in order to obtain access to a particular file or folder.

Method for handling incoming call in screen lock state, communication device and recording medium thereof

ActiveUS20090264117A1Easy to moveConvenient for to inspect and handle incoming callSpecial service for subscribersSubstation equipmentComputer hardwarePresent method
A method for handling an incoming call in a screen lock state, a communication device and a recording medium thereof are provided. In the present method, when a communication device in a screen lock state receives an incoming call, the communication device exits the screen lock state and displays an incoming call frame. Then, the incoming call is handled according to an input instruction. After the completion of a handling of the incoming call, an idle time of the communication device that receives no operation is counted. When the idle time reaches a predefined value, the communication device returns to the screen lock state. As a result, a user may conveniently inspect and handle the incoming call even if the communication device is in the screen lock state.

Robotic Golf Caddy

A self propelled robotic vehicle that faithfully follows a portable receiver at a defined distance can sense an impending collision with a solid object in its path and stops prior to collision. The vehicle observes objects that are parallel to its course and if within a distance of <200 mm inhibits the steering such that the vehicle is not able to collide even if the receiver instructs a convergence path. The vehicle stops and ceases moving if it contacts any solid object. The vehicle can sense unsafe gradients and ceases following if acceptable operating limits are exceeded. The vehicle can be used as a golf caddy, transport vehicle or cart, robotic pallet and robotic assistant.

A securing surface of a housing comprises a deformation region, which deforms radially outward by a predetermined quantity during press fitting of a thrust member, and another region. The deformation region has a tapered shape that gradually reduces in diameter in the downward direction, and is receded radially inward relative to the other region of the securing surface, by an amount equivalent to the amount of outward deformation thereof during press fitting. When the thrust member is press fitted into the inner periphery of a press fitting portion of the housing, the securing surface of the housing becomes substantially straight along entire axial region L thereof.
