40 results about "Thiirane" patented technology

Thiirane, more commonly known as ethylene sulfide, is the cyclic chemical compound with the formula C₂H₄S. It is the smallest sulfur-containing heterocycle and the simplest episulfide. Like many organosulfur compounds, this species has a stench. Thiirane is also used to describe any derivative of the parent ethylene sulfide.

High sulfur content copolymers and composite materials and electrochemical cells and optical elements using them

The present invention relates generally to high sulfur content polymeric materials and composites, methods for making them, and devices using them such as electrochemical cells and optical elements. In one aspect, a polymeric composition comprising a copolymer of sulfur, at a level in the range of at least about 50 wt % of the copolymer, and one or more monomers each selected from the group consisting of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, epoxide monomers, and thiirane monomers, at a level in the range of about 0.1 wt % to about 50 wt % of the copolymer.

Watersoluble polyurethane adsorption agent containing sulfhydryl group for removing hydrargyrum and preparation method thereof

The present invention pertains to the technical field of wastewater treatment, in particular to hydrophilic polyurethane absorbent containing sulfhydryl for removing Hg and a preparation method thereof. The present invention takes water and volatile non-water solvent as the mixed solvent, introduces chloromethyl thiirane monomer as the cross linking agent into hydrophilic polyurethane dispersion dope and finally carries out coating and solidification, thus obtaining the hydrophilic polyurethane absorbent containing sulfhydryl. The present invention has the advantages of simple and convenient technique, high production efficiency, high product quality and low cost. The composition of the prepared absorbent is controllable with the size of 50 to 250mm, the prepared absorbent has the advantages of large specific surface area, strong Hg-ion absorption capacity and rapid absorption rate. In addition, the present invention with excellent high-concentration Hg-ion absorption capacity and trace Hg-ion absorption capacity, good mechanical property and damage ratio lower than 0.5 percent after being used for a plurality of times can be applied to Hg, lead, cadmium and other heavy metal industrial wastewater treatment within a more extensive concentration range.

Sulfur composites and polymeric materials from elemental sulfur

Sulfur composites and polymeric materials having a high sulfur content and prepared from elemental sulfur as the primary chemical feedstock. The sulfur copolymers are prepared by the polymerization of elemental sulfur with one or more monomers of amines, thiols, sulfides, alkynylly unsaturated monomers, nitrones, aldehydes, ketones, thiiranes, ethylenically unsaturated monomers, or epoxides. The sulfur copolymers may be further dispersed with metal or ceramic composites or copolymerized with elemental carbon, photoactive organic chromophores, or reactive and solubilizing / biocompatible moieties. The sulfur composites and polymeric materials feature the ability self-healing through thermal reformation. Applications utilizing the sulfur composites and polymeric materials may include electrochemical cells, optics, H2S donors and antimicrobial materials.

Aromachemicals

Improved aromachemical derivatives, and fragrances and flavorings including the derivatives, that have a longer useful shelf life than the aromachemicals from which they can be derived, are disclosed. In particular, the derivatives maintain the fragrance characteristics of the aromachemicals, while lowering the allergic properties, increasing the stability, and/or increasing the odor intensity. Also disclosed are methods of making the derivatives, and articles of manufacture including the derivatives. In one embodiment, the derivatives are prepared by replacing one or more double bonds in citral with a thioether, cyclopropyl, oxirane, or thiirane group. The cyclopropane ring can be unsubstituted, or substituted with one or two lower alkyl, preferably methyl groups. The alkyl groups can optionally be substituted, for example, with electron donating groups, electron with drawing groups, groups which increase the hydrophilicity or hydrophobocity, and the like. In another embodiment, the derivatives are prepared by replacing the aldehyde group in the essential oil with a nitrile, methyl ether or acetal group. The acetal groups can provide the compounds with a long lasting flavor or fragrance, where the acetals slowly hydrolyze to provide the aldehyde group in the parent essential oil. In some embodiments, both the aldehyde and at least one of the double bond functional groups are both derivatized as described herein. Examples of suitable articles of manufacture include candles, air fresheners, perfumes, disinfectant compositions, hypochlorite (bleach) compositions, beverages such as beer and soda, denture cleanser tablets and flavored orally-delivered products such as lozenges, candies, and the like.

Method for continuously producing ethylene sulfide

The invention provides a method for continuously producing ethylene sulfide. The method comprises the following steps of: forming a substrate; continuously adding ethylene carbonate and thiocyanate into a continuous reactor of which the temperature is controlled to be 90-140 DEG C; carrying out a reaction to generate ethylene sulfide and cyanate under the stirring action, continuously dischargingthe generated ethylene sulfide from a gas outlet of the reactor, and carrying out condensation and separation to obtain liquid ethylene sulfide, and continuously discharging the generated cyanate fromthe bottom of the reactor. Through continuous reaction, an intermittent kettle type reaction in the prior art is improved into a continuous reactor, raw materials instantaneously react at the reaction temperature, generated epithioethane is rapidly separated from other substances, and generated cyanate powder is discharged from the bottom of the reactor under the action of gravity and screw propulsion of a stirrer by a wall scraping screw. The method is clean, pollution-free, stable in production index, low in labor consumption and beneficial to industrial scale-up production.
