Accuracy evaluation of video-based augmented reality enhanced surgical navigation systems

Systems and methods for measuring overlay error in a video-based augmented reality enhanced surgical navigation system are presented. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention the system and method include providing a test object, creating a virtual object which is a computer model of the test object, registering the test object, capturing images of control points on the test object at various positions within an augmented reality system's measurement space, and extracting positions of control points on the test object from the captured images, calculating the positions of the control points in virtual image, and calculating the positional difference of positions of corresponding control points between the respective video and virtual images of the test object. The method and system can further assess if the overlay accuracy meets an acceptable standard. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention a method and system are provided to identify the various sources of error in such systems and assess their effects on system accuracy. In exemplary embodiments of the present invention, after the accuracy of an AR system is determined, the AR system may be used as a tool to evaluate the accuracy of other processes in a given application, such as registration error.

Method and apparatus for data fusion of a three-axis magnetometer and three axis accelerometer

Method and apparatus of integrating a three-axis magnetometer and a three-axis accelerometer to provide attitude and heading, calibrated magnetometer and accelerometer data, and angular rate, while removing sensor error sources over time and temperature and to compensate for hard and soft iron distortions of the Earth magnetic field. Filtered accelerometer data are corrected to account for various error sources. The magnetic heading is calculated from a horizontal magnetic field vector transformed from three dimensional Earth's magnetic field vector by using quasi-static roll and pitch angles from the filtered accelerometer data. A first Kalman filter estimates the state vector, based on the principle that the magnitude of local Earth's magnetic field vector is constant, to form hard and soft iron correction matrices. A second Kalman filter estimates a correction matrix of coupled remaining soft iron and the misalignment of the magnetometer and the accelerometer, as the dot product of local Earth's magnetic field vector and a corrected gravitational acceleration vector, at a quasi-static position, is constant. The three dimensional Earth's magnetic field vector is received by removing the hard and soft irons through the soft iron and hard iron correction matrixes.

The invention proposes a precipitation pattern identification method based on the information of attenuation and polarization of microwave links. The method comprises the steps of: selecting the information of attenuation and polarization of the dual-frequency or multi-frequency microwave links to extract differential attenuation feature quantities; training the relationship between the differential attenuation feature quantities and different precipitation patterns to establish a training set; and establishing an identification model of precipitation patterns based on a machine learning algorithm to achieve automatic identification of precipitation patterns. The precipitation pattern identification method based on the information of attenuation and polarization of the microwave links fully utilizes the microphysical information of the abundant rainfall particles contained in the rain attenuation of the multi-frequency microwave links, not only improves the accuracy of the precipitation pattern identification, but also avoids the complex inversion process of the raindrop spectrum distribution, thereby reducing the source of error and has high operability. The monitoring and identification effects of regional rainfall types are further improved by using the precipitation pattern identification method in conjunction with weather radars, raindrop spectrometers and the like.

Five-axis machine tool measuring method based on AxiSet

The invention belongs to the technical field of numerical control, and particularly provides the design of a five-axis machine tool measuring method based on AxiSet. The method includes the steps that according to kinetic models of five-axis machine tools, the influence of structural errors of the five-axis machine tools on cutter location points is determined, and a five-axis machine tool kinetic error model is set up; the error model is analyzed, so that the sources of error terms of the machine tools are determined; the characteristics of the models of the three types of machine tools are analyzed, and measuring schemes for the machine tools are determined; according to hardware equipment adopting an AxiSet<TM> Check-up assembly, a touch trigger probe is used for collecting data of a master ball; and the collected data are substituted into the error models, and after the error terms are worked out, the kinetic models of the machine tools are corrected. By means of the five-axis machine tool measuring method, machining precision of an existing numerically controlled machine tool can be improved, and measurement bases are provided for measurement of multi-axis machine tools in the future.

A display device uses the load capacitances of two signal lines to perform DA conversion. Serial digital / analog conversion circuits (SDAC) in a data driver are provided for every two adjacent signal lines and use the load capacitances of these two signal lines to successively convert to analog data those data from the parallel / serial conversion circuits (PSC), PSC that correspond to the pixels of odd-numbered pixel columns and apply the converted analog data to the pixels of odd-numbered pixel columns, and successively apply data from PSC that correspond to the pixels of even-numbered pixel columns to the pixels of even-numbered pixel columns. Because the source of error of the SDAC is determined only by the difference between the two load capacitances, a polysilicon liquid crystal display device may be and the characteristics of the TFT may consequently show fluctuation, but will not act as an error source.
