This invention is a system for the treatment of body passageways; in particular, vessels with vascular disease. The system includes an endovascular graft with a low-profile delivery configuration and a deployed configuration in which it conforms to the morphology of the vessel or body passageway to be treated as well as various connector members and stents. The graft is made from an inflatable graft body section and may be bifurcated. One or more inflatable cuffs may be disposed at either end of the graft body section. At least one inflatable channel is disposed between and in fluid communication with the inflatable cuffs.

A stent and method of its use, the stent in its expanded configuration, exhibiting varying outward radial force along its length. In use, the expanded stent is of a tapered configuration which provides greater force in vessel regions requiring greater force and less force in regions requiring less. In particular the stent is useful in the ostium regions and at areas of bifurcation in vessels. An infusion set assembly comprising a cannula housing having a base surface and a septum housing adapted to be pivotally attached to the cannula housing for movement between a position where an axis thereof is substantially perpendicular to the base surface and a position where the axis is substantially parallel to the base surface. A dimensionally stable, highly resilient, hybrid copolymer solid-solution electrolyte-retention film for use in a lithium ion battery in one preferred embodiment has a predominantly amorphous structure and mechanical strength despite contact with liquid solvent electrolyte. The film is a thinned (stretched), cast film of a homogeneous blend of two or more polymers, one of which is selected for its pronounced solvent retention properties. A very high surface area inorganic filler dispersed in the blend during formation thereof serves to increase the porosity of the film and thereby enhance electrolyte retention. The film is soaked in a solution of liquid polymer with liquid organic solvent electrolyte and lithium salt, for absorption thereof. A method and apparatus for uncoupling a wire guide from and elongate medical device comprising a catheter shaft having a wire guide lumen extending there through, wherein the material surrounding the wire guide lumen is selected or adapted to facilitate splittability for removal of the wire guide. The catheter shaft is coextruded and comprises a plurality of materials. The portion of the shaft adjacent the wire guide lumen is formed from a first material and the balance of the shaft is formed from a second material. The first material is selected or adapted to facilitate splittability as compared to the second material. The first material may have a lower durometer than the second material. A peel tool for separating the wire guide from the catheter shaft is also provided.

The invention described relates to a composition for a multilayer tube having an inner and an outer layer. Preferably the inner layer of the tube has at least one at least partially crosslinked, preferably polyethylene, which is less flexible than the adjacent more flexible outer layer, which is preferably a thermoplastic elastomer. The inner and outer layers are typically coextruded during manufacture, with at least one overmolded end, preferably crosslinked, which generally has an internal diameter which is essentially the same as the internal diameter of the multilayer tube. The multilayer tube is typically crosslinked, preferably by electron beam.

Intragastric fluid transfer devices and related methods for operation thereof are disclosed. The intragastric fluid transfer devices and related methods are intended to assist a patient in maintaining a healthy body weight by stimulating the inner stomach walls and/or the inner duodenum walls. Features of the intragastric fluid transfer device include insertion of the devices transorally and without invasive surgery, without associated patient risks of invasive surgery, and without substantial patient discomfort. The life span of these intragastric fluid transfer devices may be material-dependent upon long-term survivability within an acidic stomach, but is intended to last one year or longer.

An apparatus and method to protect fiber ribbons. A router having a body and cap are disclosed. Fiber cable sheath is stripped from one end, and the fiber ribbons thus exposed are inserted through the body and through cap bores in the cap. The cap is frictionally pushed into the body, and transportation tubes are installed over the fiber ribbons. The cap bores are sized to frictionally admit one end of a transportation tube, which has the effect of holding the transportation tubes in place. An optional insert is disclosed which has the function of reducing the body minor barrel bore diameter through which the fiber cable enters the router.
