A method for manufacturing a PU (polyurethane) polishing pad is provided. Resins containing active hydrogen functional groups such as polyol resins, polyamine resins, and polythiol resins, and polyisocyanate resins containing -NCO functional groups are mixed to form a foamed PU polishing pad with excellent polishing properties by reaction injection-molding under high pressure, low temperature and auxiliary gas-adding. The PU polishing pad in accompany with an abrasive slurry can be widely used to polish high-level products such as wafers and optical glass.

In a self-servo writing method, servo data is re-recorded, and thereby, servo data having worsened recording quality is rewritten. According to the method, the servo data is recorded in an entire range on a disk medium, and thereafter, the servo write direction is switched to re-record the servo data in a range to an intermediate circumferential area on the disk medium. In this way, the servo data is re-recorded to correct servo data having worsened recording quality.

A display mother panel including a first motherboard, a second motherboard, a plurality of sealant structures and a plurality of spacers is provided. The second motherboard is stacked over the first motherboard. The sealant structures are disposed between the first motherboard and the second motherboard. The electron-emitting device includes: a cathode electrode and a gate electrode, which are formed on a base surface and opposed to each other with a space therebetween; and an electron-emitting film which is located on the cathode electrode, and in the electron-emitting device, the electron-emitting film has two end portions (A and B) in a plane substantially parallel to the base surface in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction along which the cathode electrode and the gate electrode are opposed to each other, and a structure is used in which electric field strengths applied between each of the two end portions (A and B) of the electron-emitting film and the gate electrode are made weaker than an electric field strength applied between a region between the two end portions (A and B) of the electron-emitting film and the gate electrode at a time of driving.

Microbubble optical resonator

An optical microresonator is configured as an optical microbubble formed along a section of an optical microcapillary. The curvature of the outer surface of the microbubble creates an optical resonator with a geometry that encourages the circulating WGMs to remain confined in the central region of the bubble, creating a high Q optical resonator. The resonator may be tuned by modifying the physical properties of the microbubble, allowing the resonator to be used as an optical filter. The resonator may also be used as a sensor or laser by introducing the material to be sensed (or the active laser material) into the microcapillary along which the microbubble is formed.

Method for producing cooked rice food

Disclosed is a method for producing a cooked rice food, comprising (a) a heating step of boiling or steaming raw material rice, and (b) a dextrin solution contacting step of contacting the rice with a dextrin solution at least during or after the heating step, wherein the dextrin solution comprises dextrin having a dextrose equivalent of 2 to 15. According to this production method, a cooked rice food having the same quality as rice cooked by a usual method can be produced with a high yield.
